Tracey promises he won't fight again

In a scary moment, an unconscious former heavyweight champion Chris Byrd was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital Friday night shortly after his shocking KO loss to Shaun George. Byrd reportedly became unresponsive when a combination of valium and morphine were administered in his dressing room to relieve pain from a dislocated shoulder. Happily he was later revived and released. It appears, however, that the loss to George may have been the 37-year-old Byrd's last fight. "I'm not letting him fight anymore," Byrd's wife Tracey told fight scribe Tim Smith. And should Byrd have any notion of fighting again, Tracey warned, "He would have to try to do it without my support, and I don't think he wants to do that!"

I hope Chris Byrd hasn't sustained serious damage from fighting last night. He is definitely one of the nice guys in boxing and needs to retire.

Dude! I remember watching his interview and he was looking so sickly 2 weeks before this fight! and he said he only eats 1 meal a day? and he runs like 4 hours nonstop...I hope he is ok but why didnt he hire a nutritionist to get him down in weight? last night he looked so terrible like he was gonna pass out no energy.

Man this is sad hope the guy gets well.
The way he was cutting and maintaining weight was not healthy...he was doing that for 6 months! 1-2 meals a day.

Wow, I didn't really pay attention to HOW he was losing that weight rather than just him losing it.

i was worried about the lack of punch resistance he had last night, george is not even close to a big puncher and his shots were really affecting byrd. byrd took shots from guys who literally had twice the punch impact of george and shook alot of them off thoughout his career, **** in his last fight povetkin couldnt put him out, no way george punches harder. tarver called it as much as i hate to say it
