You then go on to say Brit Haye doing well at HW would do some good, which I find in slight contradiction to your earlier statements. What so he has to turn his back on his homeland, Europe, and fight most fights in the US? What a negative attitude man sorry.
Lol. I sed Haye because he is entertaining boxer and can easily get the masses to like him. Everyone like someone who talks it up and gets you pumped. If all major fights held in Europe it signals the end because everyone knows Las Vegas is every the money is. If the fights takes place in Europe means that no one really wants to pay for the fight. All major fights should be in Las Vegas, its the way it should be.

Last year was a very good year I will admit that, although Mayweather - DLH didn't deliver. Mayweather has the best chance to bring boxing into the limelight but a boring rematch with DLH that noone wants to see is not the answer.
People were calling De La Hoya vs Mayweather fight that saves boxing. It was disgraceful. Mayweather can easily make boxing a bigger force. It the way he goes about fighting it doesn't suit they causal fans which usually are the ones that make boxing big. Example everyone in the world knows who Tyson was. No one knows who the heavyweight champion is right now.

Dude I think you need to stop fobbing that off as the widely taken view, it's yours, and unfortunately, some Americans, plus, some others.

It would mean no one wants to pay for the fight? All fights in Europe is too ridiculous to consider, just as is US, this is a global sport. But a majority. Well there's more and more major fights happening in Europe now, top venues and big money, I don't see what your getting at. You may not view them as major fights because your tv isn't showing em so much, or you rate other boxers higher, whose to say your right they're wrong?

It's natural to take issue with someone saying all major fights should be in Las Vegas. So any fight that didn't and doesn't happen in Las Vegas wasn't and isn't major? What a load of subjective bull ****.

I think many many would disagree with you. Hopkins couldn't fill the Thomas and Mack Centre in his backyard, most were Calzaghe travellers, and Hatton fills any stadium raking the cash in, not relying on the PPV model either I might add.

I don't suppose your passport has many stamps in it, if you have one that is.

Haye may increase the interest in Heavyweight if unify the division. Smaller weights will never really carry boxing.

I miss the days of Tyson Lewis Holyfield.

i dont know why some of you INSIST in thinking that boxing isnt as popular because of the lack of "personalities" or storylines or plots. the main reason boxing had a decline is because the entertainment value of the fights themselves, the excitement and drama of fights disappeared with this new era of business men boxers. when fighters began to take less risk, boxing became boring.

the more great fights are made, the more boxing will climb back up as a major sport business in america. its all about the excitement of the fight. how do you think UFC and MMA are being successful right now?

I dunno, i dont think it will to be honest.
MMA is gaining popularity and is a more open sport, rather than just punches.
That catches casual fans attention dont it!

I think it will, and being a person who goes to lots of fights, I can say that boxing is still pretty popular....I've been a part of some massive crowds at different bouts, it's nice to see that many people coming out for a boxing match.

I think the whole MMA thing is in style right now so to speak....a lot of younger guys say they like it because they think they can do it....but the bottom line is, most do not have the goods to be a fighter.

of course it will. just like after the 80's you had fat overweight
fighters that passed the belts around etc ... then along came mike tyson ...
theres probably some young hungry fighter that no ones heard of ready
                  to dominate.
