What fight? I didn't even make a prediction in that post. I just meant I don't want to see the new LHW champ pick on a young middleweight who is tailor-made for him, when there are decent fight at 175 lbs.

Yeah i think pavliks power would become a lot more normal coming up in weight, and his speed, whatever speed he did have, would definitely decline i think... pavlik looked a lot more normal at 165 fighting taylor the 2nd time... i couldnt imagine a few more pounds up or even 175...

Pavlik wouldn't be even close to the biggest puncher Joe has faced. People talk about the Hopkins KD as if that's some kind of predictor for what Kelly could do. But Kelly doesn't throw sneaky counters that would catch Joe out of position. I said beforehand that Joe would get knocked down against Hopkins because he'd get his left foot too far forward. That's all it was. Pavlik meanwhile is consistent and technical but slow and predictable. Joe Calzaghe would make him miss and caress his cheeks with the inside of his gloves about 400 times.

That was kinda funny to read, I don't want the new LHW to pick on a young middleweight... Since Calzaghe was fighting at 168 for Yeeeeears before he beat Hopkins I don't see why him being the New LHW Champion is a reason for this fight with Pavlik NOT to happen.

i think if joe really wants to add to his legacy, he should take pavlik, a fighter just about to reach his prime who owns several middleweight belts woulld look better on his resume than two guys who are over the hill. also i think he would have to beat all 3 of these guys to be considered a great fighter.............

Everyone is missing the biggest factor in a Pavlik-Calzaghe showdown. Calzaghes age. I said this after the Kessler fight. Calzaghe showed the first signs of slipping. He showed more signs of slipping against Hopkins.

Pavlik is simply to young, throws to many punches, and hits to hard for Joe to win this at his current state of aging.

I would much rather see Joe continue the seniors tour. That is where he belongs. He is no spring chicken. He is deteriorating rapidly as a fighter, and come November, I do not want to see him in the ring with Pavlik.

He can beat Pavlik, but your right time is not on his side. Thats why his next fight has to be against Pavlik, or this fight will never happen. And even with Calzaghes age, I still think he is the better boxer but he is getting older and thats why if this fight doesn't come off after the lockett fight, then it never will.

                  Someone's 0's got to go!!!

And doesn't Calzaghe throw more punches then Pavlik? Correct me if I'm wrong? This bold text is responding to the part I highlighted in your post

If Calzaghe is a chicken he'll choose Tarver...If he wants to go out with a **** he'll choose either Pavlik or Jones

Roy's first in line. Everybody else can wait their turn. I'm rootin for Jones but if Calzaghe beats Roy I'd much rather see him against Pavlik than Tarver.
