I got you man. I knew there was no way Chris Byrd was going to beat Shaun George. Two different levels of fighters, Shaun George was the most underrated light heavyweight in the world, one of the most underrated fighters period. Chris Byrd was trying to convince everyone by telling people that he was sparring with Steve Cunningham, but Cunningham was beaten twice by Shaun George in the amateurs. It didn't add up.
What did I say? Shaun George knocks out Chris Byrd!

What you have to realize is that those losses were at cruiserweight. Shaun George was too small for that weight, he only stayed there because he was ranked. Once the limit became 200 pounds, he had no business there and went down.Hey Ryan...
Do you want to shed some light on what happened in George's losses?
One was a loss in Russia for an Asian championship, and George is from the US, which makes me think that some foul play could have been involved with that one, so...
The other was a TKO loss to Matt Godfrey, who someone on this board was hyping big time a while back.
Are those losses anything to worry about? Has he improved from what caused him to lose those fights?
Please, share your thoughts.
In Russia against Gurov, those judges should have been thrown in jail. George went over there because he couldn't get a fight in America and won 10 out of 12 rounds against a world-rated guy. George went down in the twelfth, but it was one of those instances of him going straight back and getting caught with a straight shot going back. George was robbed in Russia.
Against Godfrey, George looked very good and was backing Godfrey up until Godfrey caught him with a huge shot down the middle. It was a case of a bigger man just catching him when he was coming in. Clean knockout, gEORGE NEVER SAW THE OUNCH COMING.
George has been hot and cold because he's had some injuries in the past. He's 100% percent healthy now and I think he's a serious player in the division.Comment

That's pretty much what I expected... minus the weight part. I didn't know those were at cruiserweight. By the way, when did the division limit go up to 200? I can't remember a time when it was below that, but I'm still new, so...What you have to realize is that those losses were at cruiserweight. Anyway, I knew that the Russia decision had to be a robbery. They don't make a fight for a vacant Asian belt with the intent of letting an American win it, and definately not when all of those stipulations are for a fight taking place in Russia.
So one legitimate loss to Matt Godfrey... not bad, considering Godfrey is supposed to be a pretty good cruiserweight. Were you the one who was repping him on here earlier?Comment

neither, just a feeling that fighters like Dawson, Woods, Tarver will duck him until their forced to fight him. But hey I could be wrong, and he's definitely not the undisputed guy to fight Dawson, Diaconu is.Comment

Yeah, up until like 3 years ago the limit was 190. Not it's 200, which was too much for George. That's pretty much what I expected... minus the weight part. I didn't know those were at cruiserweight.
