      sorry tunney,

after his performance tonight I just don't see it. he was knocked down once, almost twice, by a solid "b" level fighter. I predict Gamboa loses within the next year.

The thread creator was almost right.

He kept his hands low and he did get caught.

Unfortunately the other guy doesn't pack the biggest punch.

Against somebody better he will have major problems.

agreed, jimenez has no real power. in additon i saw three other things with jimenez that make me think he is just a "b" level fighter

          1) couldn't throw a jab
          2) didn't know how to take a half step back, create just a little room and catch gamboa coming in
          3) didn't know how to turn or pivot on gamboa and give him angles

if he could, I think gamboa would of had his first loss tonight?

well I thought Gamboa never looked like losing , he simply outclassed Jimenez.
i thought the guy could definitely take a beating, thats why the ko never came.
i mean just cuz he didnt get the ko, doesn't mean he didnt do a good job.

I agree with you but that is not what we are saying. Gamboa won a solid fight against a good b-level fighter. But from what I saw tonight, I think Gamboa loses his first fight before the end of 2009 OR his handlers will smarten up quickly and slow down the level of competetition (alla ANDRE WARD) befroe that happens....

It'll be interesting to see if Cuellar manages to correct his flaws.

I think Gamboa will win a belt around the end on the year, or early 2009 against a weaker title holder at 130 after everyone like Pac, JMM, Guzman, etc moves up.
