i still don't see how sparring which doesn't go on your record is as good/better than a real fight be it with bums or other, fighters are only likely to spar with a limited amounted of people i bet floyd hasn't sparred with as many as 150

Well he maybe hasn't sparred with that many, but he got more rounds with most of them than for example Robinson got with some bums, whom he ko'ed in 1 rounds.
I'm not saying [b]for example[/Robinson] isn't great, but if he fights nowadays he would have more like a 70 - 6 record or something like that. Just take James Toney he is a hall of famer and posseses such a record, allthought most people don't give him the same respect as to Roy Jones.
People wouldn' accept Ray fighting bums, so he would spend more time in training camp sparring with prospects, very good amateur fighters and contenders.

ok i partially agree, but when all is said and done, sparring is practise and boxing is boxing. there is a world of difference.
Imagine if you were employed to spar with floyd and you knocked him out. lmao you'd probably be shot
