The fight is officially a done deal. Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank confirmed to Dan Rafael that Miguel Cotto has signed his end of the deal to defend the WBA welterweight title against Antonio Margarito on July 26 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. HBO Pay-Per-View will televise. [details]Comment

plain and basic common sense. arum gave them both career high paydays. margarito signed quickly because he wants the fight. cotto took his time and negotiated more money from the ppv sales because he wants to make sure he makes more money than he will ever make the rest of his career if he has to risk his life in his next fight.Comment

i don't see it but EXPECT that if margarito wins then he gets crazy respect and admiration from me, and i'm a FAN - its his lobbyists idiotic approach and their form of persuasion that has me chomping at the bit if a margarito loss does occur.Comment

margarito is too slow........he will try to stalk cotto into submission, but cotto can box anytime he wants. that 1 style of fighting gets u nowhere against good fighters, u gotta be able to do more than just "apply pressure." margarito can be outboxed-ask paul williams-and cotto hits harder!Comment
