Ok sounds good.Nope. Not a dig at anyone. I was listening to a rap song, and the lyrics came up as 'I'd rather die like a man, then live like a coward' so I converted the song to a question about boxing, with the fight being life, obviously. I just thought it would be an interesting conversation peice.
I hate to lose at anything so i voted win regardless.

You win like SRL against Hagler and not give a **** about what others say. Besides if you win a close disputed decision like that you will basically go down in history because people will always agrue the fight and who they thought won without doing anything else in your career.
If you lose like Hearns to Leonard or Hagler that also works out for you but that should not be your preference to get your ass whipped and kayoed.Comment

Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY thing. What would you rather do?
True, no one is a coward if they step in the ring. But, it's more for dramatic effect and lack of a better term.
Would you rather win like a coward, or lose like a man?
To make it an even tougher question, imagine that this is gonna be (whether you know it or not) the biggest fight of your entire career.

But you two do realize that scoring in boxing is counted on punches landed right? So the rounds that you lose, you are going to be taking damage, correct?
So STILL... The two choices are:
1. Win, move up in the eyes of the boxing world, because you won, and have taken a small and limited amount of damage.
OR
2. Take more damage than option 1, and lose your ranking because you lost.
WHY in the **** would ANYONE choose option #2?
When was Taylor considered a better fighter? When he won like a coward backing up against Ouma, or when he got knocked unconscious by Kelly Pavlik after the first fight?Last edited by Fox McCloud; 05-15-2008, 06:03 PM.Comment

Depends on whether, in losing like a man, you end up eating through a straw for the rest of your life. I'll take that kind of beating for my family, but not for a few bucks in the ring against someone that has never wronged me.Comment
