I agree with you in principle, he was tailor made for Joe and his management ****ed up not recognising that, but it was hardly a case of being thrown to the wolves. When 90% of boxing "experts" pick you to KO an old man, it is not the same as a fighter who is 10-0 and largely untested fighting the best in his division. I totally agree with what you say, the fight came too early for him (even thought he would have NEVER beaten Joe no matter what happened) but there is no way the favourite can be thrown to the wolves. Most know I'm probably the biggest Lacy fan on this site and always have been....that being said, It's nioce to see a post like this one. Big ups to Jeff....he's had some tough breaks with the injury and was thrown to the wolves too early but he is a warrior and a class act....nobody can take that from him......ever.Comment

I agree. It wasn't just the physical beating that was bad. Being outclassed like that is devastating for boxer. Lacy's a tough dude, a lot of guys would have quit.Jeff Lacy is a good man who has been treated unfairly by the media and some fans after the loss to Joe.
He was a very good fighter, but I don't think he'll ever be the same as before the fight with Joe. He will not likely ever psychologically recover from that beating and the media abuse that followed.Comment
