Does anyone think Chris Byrd wasted his career?

Fighting 25 pounds above where he could make weight?

He definately wouldn't have been beaten up by anyone at LHW the way he was against W. Klitschko IMO.

    Thoughts?

He won a title at heavyweight, which was a dream of his, so no.

But he has moved down now, and if he was talented enough to hang in there with GIANTS like Klitschko, imagine what he could STILL do at light-heavyweight.

I read something by DAN RAFAEL, or maybe it was KEVIN IOLE, about how BYRD could still make the HOF if he racks up some big wins at Lightheavy, like JOnes or Dawson or somebody

I very much doubt that Chris Byrd has intercourse with a single female deer, but I suppose I've heard stranger things.

Dude won a belt at heavyweight despite being outmuscled and outgunned. Still something to be very proud of regardless..something a bigger name like james toney couldnt accomplish. He'd still hang with guys like maskaev, ibragimov, valuev today.

If he can still fight, which i think he can then he'll make noise at LHW but who'll wanna fight him.. Not Dawson, Glenn Johnson would defintely step in there, Calzaghe isnt dumb, Jones wants Joe, Hopkins isnt going to unless his paid 10-15 mil.. so honestly i think even if he still can fight not alot of people are gonna wanna fight him!

How could being HW champ be a wasted career ? I see what you're saying though, he coulda been an ATG LHW. To each his own though.

I don't think I phrased my opening post very well.

I guess what I am asking is twofold.

                1. Would Chris Byrd have been good enough at LHW to dominate the division, including beating RJJ?

                2. If he could, would he have guaranteed his legacy moreso by doing that than winning a title 25 pounds+ north of where he could have been fighting?

i am not sure how well he would have done at light heavyweight he would have speed and some pop in his punch but in some ways his style was ideal for him as a heavyweight

                    I don't really agree.

It's actually a great acheivement what he did.
