Considering that Castillo beat Mayweather the first time around, I don't see why Cotto could not beat Floyd.

Floyd in a running match might win a split decision.

Toe to toe like Duran/Leonard I, I give Cotto the advantage.

Running all night to where the opponent just says I have seen enough Duran/Leonard II and in all honesty, Leonard did nothing and was doing nothing in that second fight other than running and showboating. Leonard did not come to fight, he came to survive. Floyd is not a real fighter anymore, he is just in it for the money and is comfortable just surving. He is man with tremendous talent but has been very lucky there were some bums/belt warmers in his path at time he came thru the 140 and 147. Floyd is a great opportunist who has been very lucky.

I will however in closing give Leonard mad credit for facing the one man that he was scared of. Tony Margarito comes to mind when I saw how afraid PBF was of Tony Margarito and then seeing Floyd ***** foot his way out of the biggest pay day of his punk ass career, I knew then Floyd was nothing more than a punk with a big mouth.

Cotto can beat Mayweather By... using that left Hook on Floyd's body (right side) as Floyd pulls away.. it's an opening I am surprised no one seems to take advantage of.. Cottos left Body hook being what it is.. could stun Mayweather or wear him out.. It's there.. Cotto just has to use it..
he can also Win by applying smart pressure.. By faking punches and getting Floyd to react then pouncing on the openings. Cotto Hits hard.. floyd doesn't get hit often.. This makes him open to a KO..Cotto has more than a punchers chance that way

Floyd can win by doing what he does.. Give the 1st few rounds away while studying his opponents tendencies, power and range and then opening up with crisp clean Counters using his superiour speed and accuracy to land them flush. Perhaps Swelling, possibly cutting and even Knocking Cotto out
But surely making Cotto think 2wice.. Once you start guessing with Floyd.. the fight is over..

I am inclined to Pick Mayweather... I would not count out Cotto.. I put it at 55/45 Floyd..

Cotto would have to make it ugly, just like he did with Zab(minus the fouls) Cotto had Zab runnin for a place to hide out for a minute in there! Thats how he has a chance to beat Money May, not with that **** he did with Mosley or that act he put on against an over-matched Gomez! Cotto has got to use his jab to come in and attack Money's body and bully him around! Hatton was too small to perform that BIG task, but Cotto seems like he can fit that roll very well!

As far as Money....he will feel some of the most painful shots he's ever felt in his life when he fights Cotto, but it will also be one of the best if not the best performances we've ever seen from Money! Floyd has been criticized for certain antics and things that dont really focus on how skilled this kid really is!!! he is a thinker that is always 2 to 3 thoughts ahead of his opponent everytime! regardless of the physical disadvantages he might be faced with, he's always managed to think out a W! thats what Floyd does and noone does it better!! I can see Floyd doing things to Cotto and moving away all night! Floyd would box and think his way to a UD!

I think Cotto should come out using his jab to keep Mayweather off balance and defensive and work his way inside behind the jab so that he can work Mayweather's body to wear him down in the later rounds.

He needs to apply educated pressure at times by not lunging in with his chin in the air, if he does this, Mayweather is going to have a field day countering him.

He should use some feints to try and draw Mayweather out of position and take advantage of that.

One other important thing I think he should do is to counterpunch, I have always said that Cotto has underrated counterpunching ability, make Mayweather the aggressor at times and counter him.

But without a doubt, I think his best punch against Mayweather will be his jab.

I don't know whether he can do all these things with Mayweather.

Mayweather:

Mayweather can win this by doing what he does best and that is counterpunching. Make Cotto miss and make him pay.

Keep Cotto at his distance with jabs and lead right hands, I think he should throw a shot and move for the most part so that he doesn't allow Cotto to get his feet set and this would also frustrate Cotto into making mistakes that he can capitalise on.

I don't think he should stay on the inside too long with Cotto, not because he can't fight on the inside, but because he would be more open to being caught with some shots from Cotto. But when he is on the inside, look for opportunities to counter Cotto with uppercuts and right hands.
