To be considered a legit challenger for the top dogs you gotta come through those preliminary fights with the no. 3, 4, 5, 6 in the division. If you cant you got no right bragging that you're being ducked.

Cotto is gonna silence this propaganda once and for all.
no one logical answer to my question.

So many in here worry about losses. Warriors fight the best available and keep fighting on, they take their losses along the way.

Guys like Gatti, Holyfield, Margarito, Miranda, Pavlik, Hatton, Lewis, Cotto, ODLH etc.. are a special breed of fighter. They are throwbacks to what boxing once was.
I agree. fighting top guys gets my respect.

              A few reasons.

              1. Biggest of all: His internet fans. That whole "most feared" man thing is pretty lame. Also a lot of his fans don't seem to really be fans of his, but rather Anti-Floyd mayweather guys. At least online.

              2. Until recently he hasn't shown he can hang with the best WW. He is now, and certainly more popular than before.

              3. He seems like a a generally humble guy. This contrasts sharply with his ring style. Perhaps Mexican fans don't appreciate that?

              4. I remember his comments after the PW turned a lot of people off.

              5. His lack of technical skills. He has skills, but often times doesn't show them in his fights. Against Cintron the second time he was landing excellent uppercuts on the inside. If he showed that kind of versatility more often, I suspect he'd have more fans.

he lands those uppercuts in every fight.

I've seen him land them before. It's just the way he was doing it and the timing he was showing in that fight. Like I said, it's not specific to this one fight. Let's just say he's inconsistent in showing skills over brawling.

Again, this may not be why, because fans like brawlers. It's just a possibility.
