The general public would rather see Oscar fight Mayweather than Cotto anyway, so it doesn't hurt a thing.

its not about what they want to see, its about what they GET to see. why is that so hard to understand? of COURSE they are going to wanna see it with all the hype and bull**** that surrounds but when the biggest fight in boxing that THEY assume is the best quality fight possible disappoints, how does that NOT make a difference? How does the casual fan NOT say, "Well, if thats the boxing has to offer, then boxing certainly sucks now."Comment

The only thing that can ever be good for the sport is when PBF grows some balls and fights Tye Fields.
Ok, but anyway this is bad because for one, it's gonna bring negative attention due to how the first fight went and two, it's not even gonna be for the WW title!Comment

Whether its good for the sport will soley depend on how the actual fight plays out. It will depend on how competive and entertaining the fight is. If the biggest fight in Boxing is a snoozefest to the casual fans, not the diehards, but the casual fans, it hurts the sport. anyone who thinks otherwise really needs to stick their noses out of DLH and Mayweather's asses because the reality they are seeing in the their anuses is not the reality of the real world.Comment

Because the casual fan doesn't give a **** about seeing Cotto over Oscar. A single disappointing fight isn't going to hurt a thing because boxing fans or even someone who fallows it a little, know some fights don't always live up to the hype. That sounds like an argument a "pro" MMA fan uses against boxing fans, but in reality its always happened and meant nothing.its not about what they want to see, its about what they GET to see. why is that so hard to understand? of COURSE they are going to wanna see it with all the hype and bull**** that surrounds but when the biggest fight in boxing that THEY assume is the best quality fight possible disappoints, how does that NOT make a difference? thats the thing, it isnt "a single disappointing fight". your description would only suit a fight with the commercial significance of Mora/Forrest. but what you seem to be ignoring is the fact that this "single fight" is the representation of the state of Boxing to the eyes of the mainstream. i see the logo at the bottom of your sig so im pretty sure you understand what i'm saying but this has nothing to do with alliances or how faithful you are to a fighter, but more with how much common sense you choose to utilize with this particular subject.Because the casual fan doesn't give a **** about seeing Cotto over Oscar. this "single fight" is the biggest fight after their first "single fight". casual fans are going to be told that this will be the most significant fight in boxing and when the most significant fight in boxing disappoints, casual fans will think boxing is no longer significant.Comment

Doesn't make a difference. For those saying that Mayweather should fight Cotto, why should he? What has Cotto done to deserve that fight? He won a close fight (I saw it as a draw) against an ancient Mosley, and he beat Judah that just yesterday somehow fell on a knife in the shower.Comment
