I'm not a big Hatton fan. I just want to see Witter lose because the kind of person he is:
      - loud-mouthed
      - smart-assed
      - disrespectful
      - wanting to make money off Hatton's name instead of doing what Hatton did, going to America to fight big names
      - lost to the deeply flawed Zab Judah, otherwise fought mostly bums.

          Tunney,

Isn't boxing about wanting to be the champion? About wanting to fight the top man in your division?

What is wrong with Witter wanting to fight the champion? If the situation was reversed, you would want Hatton to get a title shot. Remember how Hatton got the title: Kostya gave him a shot on Ricky's turf.

...and i'm having a tough time with you blaming him for losing to an undefeated judah on short notice howmany years ago.

But Witter should have fought better opposition, and made himself into a bigger name. He should have gone to America, as Hatton did.

Then Hatton would have wanted to fight him. But bitching and whining about it just pushed Hatton away...

I love how it's all about money for Witter, but not for Hatton and his Vegas fights....

Witter has fought Zab Judah, Vivian Harris, Demarcus Corley and N'dou. That is a very respectable roster at 140.

Who would he have fought in America? Malignaggi? Gatti?

Please keep in mind that Mayweather is the first elite fighter (prime) that Hatton fought. The level of opposition between Witter and hatton isn't that substantial. Tszyu and Castillo were not exactly peaking....were they?

He also beat current WBA LW champion Andreas Kotelnik.

                    - N'Dou is a C level fighter, as we saw against Malignaggi.
                    - Judah defeated Witter
                    - Harris is a C+ level fighter, who was KOed by Maussa, who was KOed by Hatton! Why do you consider Harris a good win for Witter, and Maussa not a good win for Hatton?
                    - Corley is just a journeyman
                    - Kotelnik is a good fighter, but he was robbed by deserved decision win the British boxing judges.

Malignaggi is better than anyone Witter has ever fought, with the possible exception of Judah.

Witter could have fought Torres, Cotto when he was at 140, Malignaggi or Tszyu. Mosley and Mayweather went past 140 on their way up the weight divisions, did Witter ever try to get a fight with either?

Why does Witter NEED Hatton so much? It's kind of pathetic the way his whole life revolves around fighting Ricky. He needs to realize there are other boxers to fight...

What I find disgraceful is that Witter is criticising Hatton for fighting a top ten ranked opponent but he's fighting a janitor or bus driver or whatever and thinks that this is OK. As long as he doesn't spend most of the fight just staring at his opnent like usual then it could be OK.
