Who doesn't want to see Floyd face his toughest challenge and end up in the fight of his life? Money first for that guy, I can understand the reasoning but it doesn't mean I like it. I don't really care if you don't like Floyd's "persona" or his money grubbing ways vbut the problem arises when you try to discredit his in ring performance. Anyone who thinks he isn't close to being the best of this era and a fighter who can compete in ANY era is close to kidding themselves.

I have only come across limited number of opinions who truly believe that Floyd is completely overrated and not as good as he is perceived to be. I think the majority of boxing fans understand that amount of talent and ability Floyd posseses. I've been a very big fan of Floyd and I will admit that I really began to follow him after his defeat of Diego Corrales. I later began to research his fights prior to the Corrales win to truly understand and appreciate the type of fighter Floyd is. His early resume is as good as it can get with wins against future hall of famers and incredible fighters.

But, I have increasingly grown impatient and somewhat turned off by his recent decisions to only fight for financial gain. That basically means that he is not fighting the best, but only choosing the opponents who have the best chances of bringing him the most money. That necessarily constitute quality opposition. Oscar De La Hoya was once a great fighter, but now, he isn't even ranked in the Top 10, nor is he the best fighter in his own Jr. Middleweight division. Ricky Hatton is a Top 10 fighter, but really was tailor made for Floyd. Hatton's biggest win came against Kosta, but other than that, almost lost a decision to Collazo. I find it increasingly difficult to continue calling Floyd the best fighter in the world when in fact, he isn't challenging himself by choosing opponents with lesser chances of being competitive than other fighters available.

Damn good post. I don't wanna see him KTFO but I wanna see him finish his big $ fight wit DLH, then start fightin the top WW fighters who can beat him. Cotto, Marg, Shane, maybe Clottey in anotha year. He's made enough paper by now. He says himself he could neva spend it all, so **** the money. Just man up and fight like a champ is supposed to. I respect Floyd and he makes sense sayin he wants to milk DLH's last year in boxing for one more megapayday. But after that he's out of excuses. Fight like a real champ or get the **** outta the sport. And if he chooses the latter, don't sit on the sidelines talkin **** about hungry, active fighters. Get out and stay out.
