Bore Hard vs. The Blow - I bet that caused some rucks on here, didn't it?

I gotta be real with you guys, when I saw that one the first time I said to myself "I'll tell Versy that he doesn't owe me the bet we had".

That's right, on first view I actually scored the fight for the Slopmeister General. I've long made it known that I'm no fan of Bore Hard's style and that I like The Blow's (not, contrary to the belief of twats, because of where I come from... I'm not even Welsh, cum guzzlers). However, credit where credit is due, he did well.

    Some thoughts....

    1. That KD. I began to watch the fight, marvelling at how subtly bigger Joe's muscle definition was at light heavy. As I looked at his sinews moving around the ring I'd began to get a nice work up on my old chap going. Nothing major - just the head glistening with a bit of pre-cum. The next thing I know, he's on the floor. WTF???? I lost my erection and couldn't get it back up for the rest of the fight - I was in a right ****ing state.

    2. Cortez - Is he getting a little homerific? I didn't think so at first, but when I see Bore Hard blatantly putting the nut in right in front of him (when they weren't even fighting) and Cortez saying **** all, I do wonder. It reminded me of the time he refused to stop the Dixon vs. Balboa bout. Balboa is heavily KD'd twice and is at the end of his career but he lets it go on - wtf???

    3. The low blows. So let me get this straight. In the tenth round Hopkins has his **** and his balls brushed by the edge of Joe's glove... and Joe then stands behind him pretending to bum him? WHAT A LUCKY BASTARD! Honestly, the amount of times I've asked Danny Williams to do that to me, and the **** always turns me down.

    4. I watched the fight a couple more times, and even though Joe only hit Hopkins a compuboxed 232 times - what a lazy bastard - I guess Hopkins also failed in his bid to "punish Joe and make his Dad pull him out". Bernard was landing all the substantial shots, but Joe's like a performance artist... you'll get fifty love taps a round off the guy. In retrospect it wasn't as bad as it first looked (so pay up, Versy) and the "low blows" were telling. The first one looked as if he was being pushed down into it, the one in the eleventh I didn't even see. While Joe didn't do that great against an awkward opponent, I guess if you're reeling around on the floor like Earthworm Jim, trying to buy time and acting like a Batty Boy, then by definition you must be king of the gaylords, right?

    5. Is there anything worse than someone who fouls repeatedly being a *****? Like a repeat of Cassie vs. Katsidis (where he bitched about a low blow after hitting the guy on the floor) Bore Hard constantly motioned to Cortez despite holding, nutting and many other indescretions.

I did appreciate what the Slopmeister did, his ring generalship, speed and cageyness are all great. But if 50% of your output is hitting and holding, putting the nut in and acting like a **** then I don't see where the appeal is, really.

Oh, and good to see those Welsh bastards didn't boo the anthem.

If you're faking injuries to buy time, you're not winning the fight.

            What was the general verdict?

I'm imagining "if B-Hoppp was in his freakin' pryme" and "B-Hoppp was freakin' robbed for that Scottish guy" but I'm willing to be surprised.

I'll check back next week, off on holiday for a bit. Take care, guys.

The point I have made is that there is nothing in the scoring criteria that addresses faking injuries. If a ref awards you time, that cannot be held against you.

Regardless I still believe Calzaghe won.

It was about 70-30 in favor of Joe. No one had Nard by more than a point, but there were plenty of threads of the sort you mention.

Of course I gloated with fifty threads of my own to drown those out.
