I would be very surprised if he does! I'm confident he will have fully recovered well before July 5.

Just watched Chagaev vs. Calloway. Ruslan looks pretty technically sound and quick for a HW. His power is deceptive too! He stunned Calloway with a overhand left and then flattened him with the left hook.

Question for you guys who follow HW's more than I:

How do you think Chagaev fairs against Klitschko? Is he good at getting inside on guys who have good jabs? How is Chag's chin?

He'd do a bit better than Ibragimov, but would surely lose. His chin is very good, but he was knocked down by Virchis, and Wladimir would test it more than anyone ever has.

not sure he did well against Valuev but I wasn’t impressed with his performances against ruiz or skelton. Imo he is to stand up to beat wlad he needs more head movement bob and weave to get on the inside, once your on the inside against wlad you have a big target as wlad stands straight up but wlad has learnt how to tie up on the inside so you have to be quick to be honest I don’t see chageav beating wlad apart from a knockout.

His chin is solid. Fighting Wlad is an enterely different proposition than Valueev. Wlad can fight, is technically sound, good footwork and conditioning as well as a paralyzing right. Chagaev will not pose a threat to Wlad.

The ****ed up thing is, so did Larry Donald. But he was robbed for being American.

His chin is first class and unlike Ibragimov he doesn't need to stay out of range to avoid right hands. You can watch all his fights and you'll hardly ever see him get hit by a right from the outside. Hence he'll be a struggle for Wlad, a much much more difficult fight than Ibragimov.

Chagaev's most vulnerable to the uppercut - he's very good at slipping jabs & straight rights.

                    Very interesting bout.
Chagaev would probably be the best schooled fighter Wlad has faced - superb amateur career, fought a good array of top professionals, has an excellent chin, & is a southpaw.

Would give a narrow edge to Wlad going into the fight, probably 2-1 odds - he's got the edge in experience - but think it would be his toughest matchup
