how many guys have made this mistake before. Top of the world....inactivity....crash and burn.......but this is part of floyds super ego he should recognize that but he wont and one day it may cost him.i dont care if you are in your prime and easily the p4p champ by a mile.
you still need to stay active...
****yness doesnt win you fights...and even the p4p champ can just show up after a long layoff and expect to win...without a tune-up he's going to have to work harder in the gym this time than he has in years...
he really has to push himself further this time...Comment

think tyson v. douglas.
tyson didnt pay any attention to douglas and got spanked...
de la hoya didnt pay attention to strum and almost lost. (and that was a tune-up).
paulie almost blew it on his last fight (looking past him to hatton)...
floyd could walk in that ring and look slow; tired; and out of tune with his boxing mechanics...and lose...
its very well possible. so im not going to count out oscar (who isnt taking time off)...
this fight could be REAL close in all actuality.Comment

Now I'm not comparing Paulie Malignaggi to PBF but fighters who rely heavily on reflexes and razor's edge dodging of punches should stay active and long layoffs probably hurt them more than other types of fighters.
You could see the layoff hurt Paulie vs Ndoujou and he even said so in the post fight interview.Comment
