is floyd gonna need a tune-up as well ???

i mean pbf has had or will have a 9 month lay-off,
we all know he is a gym rat and he is probably in the gym 24/7.......
but you know it's not the same if you are active,
should he fight a tune-up bout in grand rapids, Michigan for his fans before the pbf vs dlh bout ?

i think he should take a tune-up fight (to be sharp) but he more than likely will not.

its already may...the bout is in september...roughly 4 months away...

if he did it would have to be done quickly within the next month and i dont see that happening...

so it looks like floyd will come into the ring with what will be (or i think will be) the longest layoff in his professional career.

do i think it will play a role in the fight? for the first 4 rounds quite possibly...

could he tire down the stretch (from the inactivity) possibly...

we cant say since we never seen him with such a layoff but i cant imagine the long layoff being beneficial to him in any way.

its not like he's been in tough gatt-ward like wars fight in and fight out that he would need time to heal up...

I know this much. If Floyd happens to lose to Oscar, his inactivity will be the first thing that comes out of the Floydboyz mouths. Then they will cry for a rubber match.

I dont really think he needs a tune up fight, I mean when you have a guy with that kind of skill he really only losses if he beats himself, what i mean in that is if Floyd does not put in 100% in the gym he wont win, and I am sure Floyd wont, he will be ready, good sparring will always take care of a long lay off.
Look at what Quartey has been able to do after long layoffs.

He wouldn't take a chance on even the slightest mishap in a tuneup that could ruin his payday wit Oscar.

i dont care if you are in your prime and easily the p4p champ by a mile.

you still need to stay active...

****yness doesnt win you fights...and even the p4p champ can just show up after a long layoff and expect to win...without a tune-up he's going to have to work harder in the gym this time than he has in years...

he really has to push himself further this time...
