Dawson. I was not terribly impressed by Diaconu last time. -
Dawson was exposed by Glen Johnson in his last fight, he was hurt badly and almost knocked out by Johnson, who is not a big puncher....Dawson is very chinny and he has poor defence, he gets hurt a lot and knocked down...Diaconu is a very dangerous fighter with underrated technical skills, he hits hard and is a good finisher...Diaconu will hurt Dawson badly and knock him out.

Dawson gets hurt and knocked down regularly? According to your logic, Maskaev should have knocked out Peter because he was labeled to having a weak chin after the McCline fight and he doesn't have good defense. You only seen Dawson badly hurt against Johnson who is a very tough veteran that has one of the best if not the best chin in the sport, and didn't even get knocked down. He dominated Harding and Adamek(the others that that knocked him down). Many fighters wouldn't take the amount of body shots and sharp punches that Johnson took. Johnson has never been knocked down and was stopped one time, against Bernard Hopkins and he was on his feet. Diaconu's chin hasn't even been tested and if anyone has been exposed in their last fight, then its him. He does not have the stamina to be in hard fight nor does he have the mentality. I can see that he was mentally falling apart in the Henry fight and was complaining about fouls that never happened. Thats normally a sign of a fighter breaking down. Dawson will hit him more than he is being hit, as he us the much better pure boxer, quicker hands, more diverse arsenal, superior foot speed and the better puncher. I see Dawson keeping him at bay and boxing him from the outside, fighting tall, landing sharp uppercuts on the shorter Diaconu, which was the punch that Henry landed every time that he threw it. Dawson has a great counter right uppercut, it was a dominant weapon in the Harding fight and he used it effectively in the Adamek fight as well.
Dawson will not want to fight on the inside against Diaconu because he would have disadvantages there and would be giving Andrian his opportunities to win the fight. Diaconu has the perfect style for Dawson to shine against and Chad will not make the same mistakes that he made last time and if he does, then it would be a disaster of hes fighting someone with the power of Diaconu, i seriously doubt it though. Diaconu's weakness against southpaws will be a major factor in this match-up as well. The last southpaw that he fought, he won a tight majority decision against.
I see Dawson getting a late stoppage from accumulation. It will be a great fight, but Dawson can do everything that Diaconu can and the style match up favors him.Comment
