shut up it was a tune-up fight.

floyd did get slack for doing the same...

    know what the difference was?

floyd fought a 140lb fighter by the name of Ricky Hatton (since you didnt know judging by your post that said, "floyd would have been crucified for doing the same thing") for a big PPV fight...

oscar's was a tune-up for the floyd rematch.

floyd fought hatton as a legit threat on ppv for $50-$55.

    thats the difference.

if oscar fought forbes on ppv (or tried to sell it as more than a tune-up) then it would be different.

anyway, i think its the fact that Oscar, being the legend that he is, wasnt able to get Forbes out of there like he should have. not that he fought Forbes, but that he wasnt able to get him out of there. Oscar needed to send a message to casual fans. He needed to show what he plans to do in Mayweather/DLH 2 so that people can justify the purchase. He DEFINITELY didnt want to go all 12 rounds with Forbes. That was obviously not part of the plan. He needed fireworks. He needed noise. He got SOME of that. Just like Mayweather/DLH I, people were expecting a lot more which they didnt get.
Yeah I honestly thought he would KO Forbes, but he put on a good fight and hung in there all 12 rounds. Oscar looked good but I really could care less about him as a fighter anymore, he needs to retire man a fight with Floyd II ain't going to do any good for boxing.

Floyd should fight the winner of Cotto/margarito, Oscar should fight the loser.
