    What A Night!

You know, back in the old days they used to make a nice production out of introducing all the fighters from ringside in the ring at big fights...tonight they showed ALI-FOLLEY from MSG....1967...and in the ring they had -among others- Willie Pep, James J. Braddock, Joe Louis, Rocky Graziano and Sugar Ray Robinson. Pep, Robinson, Louis and Ali all right there a few feet away from each other. Must have been something to see live

I know, they don't do that anymore. I always wondered how it would feel to be there live when all the greats were in the ring together.

THANKS for replying LOLOLOL. ..OK, here is my take on it...they still do something similar at fights I have been present at...but the announcers are practically comatose.... they seem to have no idea how to present a guy...I remember being at the NYCGG finals a few years ago and Mark Breland, the greatest amateur and certainly the greatest NYCGG boxer ever was there and the guy introduced him like he didnt even know who he was. The fans didnt even seem to care because the guy had no excitement in his voice..he was like, "and here's former golden gloves champ Mark Breland."

Johnny Addy used to be great at announcing the great fighters that were in the ring on that given night.

Shame on the announcer who didn't know who Mark Breland is, and the fans for not caring, especially when they were there watching the NYCGG. Shame his professional career never reached the same height as his amateur career.

You know what they say Ice, 40 is the new 30.

You know what, man, I believe it. With Hops going strong enough at 43...etc etc. I have sparred close to 200 rounds already in 2--8 so far....and have gone more than 20 rounds in a row more than once. When I was a kid if you told me I could spar 10, 12, 15 or more rounds at age 40 with no trouble I might not have believed it

You should tape some of those sparring sessions and let us take a look. Have you ever been tempted to make a comeback?
