byrd would get koed if he fought top LW competition imo weight draining that much at that stage of your career its not healthy he will lose alot of speed and stamina his power will stay the same but the chins he will be facing will be weaker

Will Byrd have power at LHW?

So you think Joe Calzaghe or Bernard could knock Byrd out? I guess Bernard might have a tiny chance, but Calzage? Never in a million years.

byrd started out as a middleweight, when he turned pro he weighed 169 lbs and spent years pumping himself up with weightlifting. i saw byrd fight at the lighter weights, he was better at around 190 - 205 lbs than his last hw fights where he was trying to bulk up to 220. he's old but i think he'll be better without all the extra beef, he might even be able to move a lil bit like he used to. i think he'd be good at 175 if he was younger

In any case, I always like Byrd and will be rooting for him in the division.
On a side note, I wish he would have just went down to a cruiserweight. I would like to see that division get more “names” in it.

unfortunately for byrd hes at least 3 years late... after losing to wlad he shouldve moved right down rather than screwed around... beat paul amrinoccio or w/e and got ko'd by povetkin... in those years he could have still salvaged something at lhw... he's simply too old. no power at lhw either

No,He's done.He looked drained and skeletal. He is not a puncher and his opponents will be much faster as well.

I have to believe his timing will be way off which will affect everything for him. That cannot be an easy adjustment to make after all those years.
