I couldn't help but chuckle and shake my head as I watched the Oscar/Forbes fight and listened to all the sniffers dote over Oscar, like they're all lining up with their hands out hoping to borrow some money. It wouldn't have mattered how good or bad Forbes looked, he could do no right. The only way Forbes would have gotten any complimentary comments would have been if he had KO'd Oscar. No sooner had the decision come out -the headlines and blogs were lit up, "Oscar crushes Forbes", "Oscar destroys Forbes", blah, blah, blah. Look, Oscar looked damn good and earned the decision. BUT he did not crush, destroy, annialate, smoke Forbes or anything else. He set the pace, found his groove and put together great combo's. He outboxed Forbes period. But in my opinion, that just gives Forbes more credibility. If Oscar was at the top of his game, looked as good as he did ten years ago, and all the other hype I heard the sheep-minded announcers pukeing up, then they should have acknowledged that with all that in mind, Forbes stood there and took everything Oscar could dish out. Forbes took him the distance, didn't run, didn't clinch, didn't gas out, and ****** with him toe to toe for the entire match. No matter how pretty Oscar looked he couldn't stop Forbes. All these clowns are saying in one breath that Forbes never stood a chance and was going to get shut out, but now that he stood in there, lumped Oscar's face up and took him to decision, they're saying he doesn't deserve any more fights with notable guys. BS. Forbes looked better than anyone thought he would and proved he's top rate. If that's the best ODH has, he better rethink his next stepping stones.

I agree with FX's main argument that the HBO crew in general did not give much attention or credit to what Forbes was doing. I still thought Oscar won handily, but Lampley and Merchant typically glazed over a lot of what was being done in the ring.
