It's sad what Floyd needs to do to get attention...

I mean cmon, in reality, he knows nobody would go to his fights. So what does he have to do? Make noise. This includes, publicity stunts in WWE, and racing bs, all having nothing to do with boxing. Sure, some might see it as a good thing for boxing, but, tell me, how does it? Does seeing this guy whose a boxer, end up on their show or genre, have an affect on how they look at the sport of boxing? Highly doubt it. Floyd would never be as popular on his own if it wasn't for picking the right opponents that have huge fanbases, and then doing nonboxing BS to grab attention. He's a clown!

I dunno if all this will help sell DLH v. Mayweather II..
People saw the first and no matter how much exposure he gets they wont want to see the second.
It benefits him though against other opponents I would say...

i dont have a problem with him expanding his celebrity outside of the boxing realm. its a very smart business investment if you have the drive and character to do so. But he is doing just that. Expanding HIS business. He is promoting himself, not boxing. He is more now an entertainer than an actual Boxer and he has said so himself. I agree that he does have to take extra measures to get people interested in his fights because he knows his fighting style at Welterweight will not do it for him. That TOO is very smart.

But I dont see how a WWE fan will say, "Gee, that Mayweather was sure entertaining. I think I'm going to buy the next Kelly Pavlik fight." I doubt a Nascar fan will say, "The Mayweather/De La Hoya fight was kind of boring and didnt live up to the hype, but I think I'm still going to buy Winky Wright's next fight." It doesnt work that way. What casual fans want is what they paid for. The more they keep getting disappointed, the less likely they are to stay interested. I dont understand how Floyd fans are saying he is expanding Boxing when all he does is just promote himself and disappoint in the end.

What i dont understand is how all his fanboys claim that whatever circus act Floyd happens to participate in, they will say that it is good for boxing. Please explain how? When Floyd participated in WWE, it was good for WWE because his fans paid for a WWE ppv, when if not for Floyd, they wouldnt of purchased it otherwise. So tell me how the sport of boxing benefits off of Floyd participating in WWE. Floyd's diehard fans will pay $44.95 to see him shower. I doubt that diehard wrestling fans will now start purchasing boxing ppv's, solely because Floyd fought Bigshow.

Floyd is scheduled to wave a flag at this years Indy-500. His fanboys will say that this is good for boxing. Please explain how? I highly doubt that Indy 500 fans will now start watching boxing, or purchasing ppv's solely because Floyd waved a damn flag at thier race.

If Tiger Woods was a special guest announcer at a major championship fight, would that make u start watching golf if u were not already a golf fan?

I remember the footage of when Tyson went to Tokyo for one of his fights. He was bombarded by fans. Now u wanna talk about fame, and notoriety? Tyson had it worldwide!

Does this really need to be reiterated?

LMAO, you said this SAME argument before and you were owned so badly you left the thread. Floyd hasn't been on TV or interviewed in a while so why are people still talking about him? People try to berate him for trying to expand his notoriety but he isn't doing one thing right now AND THEY STILL are discussing him. You guys are like women who can't stop thinking about their ex boyfriends.

I wasnt the thread starter, but i think he is talking about Floyd's upcoming tv appearance for the Indy 500. In that case, he will be on tv. If u ask me, i think Floyd is starting to become annoyed with all the questions regarding a fight between him and Cotto, therefore he is trying to stay away from interviews, etc. When the whole Margarito thing was happening, Floyd became aggitated at the constant questions aswell. I remember Floyd telling a interviewer that he doesnt want to answer any questions, or talk about anything regarding Margarito. Bob Arum even went on the record to say that when he was trying to get Floyd to fight Margarito, Floyd would get outraged everytime Margarito's name was mentioned.
