He got naled with another big right a few seconds later too but it had no effect on him. Besides that he fought great. In the 4th and 5th round he put Esalas down with some "vicious" left hand shots and in the 5th Esalas stayed down for 10. He fought patient, stayed calm through everything, picked his shots, pretty impressive. I thought he looked good.

dont forget he took this fight on very short notice and came in above 140 pounds.
^^^ Agree with everything he says,i was impressed the at the fact Ortiz was so calm after being knocked down,he got up and carried on with his business like he didnt get put down for the first time in his career,he stayed calm, like a champ, and brutaly floored him 3 times,he has power

and yes,he did take the fight on like 2 weeks notice,he's been having problems outside the ring

What problems? I was very impress with ortiz last night, He had this cruunching fighting style that makes him look like a veteran..it was like seeing Ricky hatton in his third fight all over again.

He had to file bankruptcy to get out of his contract with Top Rank, there are rumors he's going to sign with Golden Boy now.

He's a free agent right now but he'll probably sign with Golden Boy.

                  lol whoa..

Just saw the fight, and this is only the 3rd time I've seen him fight and he's definantly sharp enough, little over anxious, but he can afford to be cause he's young.

As for him being knocked down, it was early and the action was pretty fast paced at the moment, he ate one and got right back up and continued like nothing happen. Great focus, I mean he didn't start to slip up after that, he just continued to keep his gloves up and stayed sharp.

But the punch that KO'ed Esalas, so ****in sharp and accurate. Anyways, great performance even with his issues outside the ring.
