So.......Kosta Tszyu , Jose Castillo, Juan Urango and Collazo were not risky too? Looks like you know what you are talking about......................NOT! If he fought Mayweather for the money alone, he would have just fought Oscar DeLahoya , so STFU you tool.

Oscar just had a fight for his "Fans" and guess what it was free...but your hero still charge you idiots cash to see him beat up on a mediocre former lighweight.
Ricky Hatton (43-1, 31 KOs) is back up off the floor after getting knocked out by Floyd Mayweather Jr and is making his return to the ring back home in Manchester against Juan Lazcano (37-4, 27 KOs) on 24 May. 'The Hitman' has announced that this fight is one for his UK fans - he's turned down a series of big money offers, like 1 million Pound from US TV networks to schedule the fight for the morning to suit American viewers or an extra 20,000 seats from Wembley Stadium to move the fight to London. As for the underdog 'The Hispanic Causing Panic' Juan Lazcano, his ca]reer hasn't panned out as it might have and he'll be looking to make a surprise comeback out of Hatton's Vegas blues.

The irony here is, I'm sure most of his UK fans don't want to watch Hatton fight Lazcano, they want to see a real mega fight. He should have gone straight for Malignaggi or Torres.

-Tszyu was coming off a major injury, he had fought like 5 rounds in 2 years, was already old, and fighting in Hatton's backyard in the middle of the night. It all adds up to cherry pick.

            -Castillo was beyond washed up.

-Urango a risk? What a joke...

-Collazo was a risk. He only took the fight because he thought he was such a great fighter at the time that he could handle the worst welterweight champion. Hatton was wrong on this one and hasn't tried to fight another risky fight like this since.

-Why would DLH have fought Hatton coming off a brutal loss to Mayweather? Hatton doesn't call the shots, so he can't make DLH fight him.

I'll be honest and say i used to love Hatton, out of the ring hes still a top guy always on soccer am etc. But ever since the Mayweather fight i have no time for him. I have got into boxing big time in the last year mainly because boxers have finally decided to take risks. This is an old school rivalary, which is pretty rare these days, its been going on for years and everyone wants to see it.

To be honest im not bothered hes fighting Lazcano, fair enough you've just had your first defeat, but having it on PPV whether hatton has a say or not, is ******. I cant stand the bull**** hatton pulls with the 'taking a financial hit having the fight at uk prime time' Oh thanks so much ricky, your making X million rather than 2X million, you gonna have enough to pay the rent next week?

What gets me are the excuses he gives for not fighting Witter, everyone has heard them, they make me sick, this guy is supposed to be fan's fighter.
The thing is many of 55,000 people going to his fight wouldn't be bothered if he didn't fight witter as the majority of his fans dont have a strong knowledge of boxing. Where as most people who love this sport, from the UK or not, know that if this fight doesn't happen then thats the main thing he'll be rememebred for.
You just said it all son. After he lost to Mayweather, you have no time for him. Great, thats just shows that you are a bandwagon jumping hipocrit. Plus, if you were going to make 1 million to do your job (whatever that is) near where you live, and 2 million far away from home and comfort. I gaurantee you will go the distance route and paying rent has nothing to do with it. If I were in a position to make that kind of money doing something that I loved, you better believe that I would take advantage. Hatton doesnt have to explain why he took the paycut to give this fight to his fans, etc.....because he is the one who calls his own shots now and I think that the haters like you don't like that too much. Hatton is building his son and his son's - son's future right now. I damn sure would do the same.

Yet, Maussa KO'd the best fighter on Witters resume' and Hatton blew him out with both eyes cut wide open.(headbutts) Kinda makes ya think huh? You may want to try and speak from your mouth and not out of your ass.

Man you are an idiot. The only reason HBO did'nt take the fight was because Hatton would not move the fight time to suite the USA audience. Period. They love Hatton and respect him at HBO , and BTW. HBO doesnt "sanction" anything. The pro boxing organizations do. And , one more ignorant thing you said was that the DeLaHoya fight was free. Are you kidding me? So how was it free? Are you saying that you think he let the spectators in the staduim for free? Or that the fight was aired on HBO championship boxing and not PPV? I'm confused with your retartedness. If you want to look at it that way, Hatton is acually doing better in those terms. More cable subscribers have Versus because it comes with most service plans, whereas HBO has to be subscribed to like a magazine that you have to pay additional charges for. Looks like you shuld shut up now, before your true IQ is revealed.

What I meant was: If Hatton wanted to take money alone, he would have fought Oscar instead of Mayweather. He wanted to be the best fighter in the world . Even you should respect that. Then got punked by everyone involved and not just pretty boy Floyd. And BTW, Urango was a threat. He had a tilte, has some pop and was built like a German tank. I guess you missed Urango's last fight on ESPN. Google it or watch it on U-tube. He nearly killed the guy. Just makes Hatton look so mch better.
