I know!!!! He kept saying the fact that Forbes has never been knocked down is a bad thing cause it means he takes no risks.

First of all he's not in there, and second of all i've seen Forbes fight agressive and very active in his 2 most recent fights, Hopkins and Bajado. AND Tonight he fought his ass off.

idk what Merchant was talking about.

so dont see olivers next fight listed yet. is it still on?
Steel, yeah, Mike-Mike is on this Wednesday on ESPN-2. As for Foreman, I thought that there were many instances that he said things that people who really knew boxing would understand....and Larry would disagree or be perplexed. Same thing with RJ, he sometimes would say things that didn't make sense maybe to the average person but people who KNOW boxing understood what he said and how he meant it. Larry usually did not.

Merchant's drunken ramblings are still a million times better than anything that sweaty little weasel Kellemran has to offer.

EXACTLY.... I thought Forbes looked good at times letting his hands go. Larry has NO IDEA what it means to take risks...Forbes is a tiny man compared to ODLH.... he was within range for much of the night, stayed on the ropes and rolled with punches...forced Oscar at times to stop and regroup cuz' he wasnt landing solidly. Merchant doesnt recognize risks because he never had to take one in th ering before

Larry Merchant is by far the better comentator on hbo, he pulls no punches and he'll ask anybody anything. And he was right on Forbes doesn't get knockdown because he takes no chances. He fights in spurts and he was just happy to get to a decision and a big paycheck at the end. He's not going to hug anybody's balls and he called Manny out on it.

                  The don't knows, DON'T KNOW.
The ones that been in it, DO.
Merchant has seen some great fights. He is, by all means, a HISTORIAN.
                  Plain and simple.
As far as getting hit with a low blow, or a hook that turned into a elbow...
                  That muthaphucka knows NADA.
I take his ramblings at the most times as just that. A drunk, 1000 year old man, that Vin Scully would beat the **** out of....

I didn't hear any nuthugging. I heard a pretty accurate and objective assessment of Oscar's performance.

id say merchant doesnt even know what it feels like to take 1 hard punch let alone 200 or 300 and still keep fighting. I have 0 respect for him.
