my take on floyd.

i gotta say,when i first came here i was a fan of both floyd and miguel,probably more so floyd,cause he got me watching boxing again with his disintegration of gatti.but as i spent weeks and months here i grew tired of all the unwarranted hate for miguel,and still none of them have a legitimate argument as to why.joe louis and and lennox lewis had far from the best chins in boxing history and are 2 of the top 3 heavyweights of all time, yet no one gives them any grief for it.maybe it's cause miguel hasn't earned that respect you do threw time with consistency as a champion.the disrespect for miguel is probably the reason for me not rooting for floyd in these forums,when in reality i do.no one can deny he's the best in the game,but being the best in the game shouldn't be the reason for rooting for a guy[it isn't the reason to root against them either but some will],in reality I'm a floyd fan as much as I'm a miguel fan.most my post have to do with me defending miguel against unwarranted detractors who hate him for no reason.i don't need to defend floyd,everybody knows he the best.as I've stated before i understand what he's doing in not fighting miguel at the moment he's waiting for it to simmer,so they can both cash the **** out.

Is that the fight Floyd broke his hand? Pass that over I want to see that one. You are a credit to Cotto fans. You will NEVER see me bash Cotto as he is one of the best in the game and the fight with Floyd WILL be a great one in which they both get paid.

its normal for a fan(stan) of someone to automatically hate who ever threatens who their a fan of.

Take the rapper Cam'Ron for example. Cam'Ron and Nas had and have beef till this day. you go on any hip hop forum and you wont find many fans who like BOTH Nas and Cam. Its no doubt that Nas is a better rapper than Cam'ron, but Cam'ron fans wont admit that. Its no doubt Cam'ron has more "swag" than Nas, but Nas fans will say swag dont matter.

When it comes to Miguel though, there REALLY is no TRUE reason to dislike him.

He has one of the fan friendliest styles in boxing.
He has been in some very dramatic fights coming back from KD's to win.
He has faced his mandatories and has beaten very tough competition.
He has evolved to contain a complete arsenal, he can box and brawl.
He doesnt act like a bafoon outside of the ring and is all business inside of the ring.

If someone truly dislikes Cotto, it is more of a personal issue. It IS possible to be a fan of Cotto and Floyd. Some of the people hating on Cotto WERE fans of him prior to the whole Cotto vs. Floyd ****. The truth is, its annoying to hear Floyd himself claim to be the best (Which he is) then to hear him say in order to be the best you must fight and beat the best (Which he doesnt) I hate hearing him say if it makes dollars its makes sense (That isnt true if so what happend to the Margarito offer) I hate hearing him say I will take on all commers etc... which he hasnt he has picked pretty much who he wants to fight his entire career.
Now I agree Floyd is the best Welter Weight today, Nobody can say other wise, but in defense of Floyd, 2501 you are 100% correct, nobody needs to defend Floyd he is what he is. However at the end of the day talk doesnt get it done, neither does big money fights, the truth is in this sport along with being the best there is an oblagation you must meet.
Nobody is going to allow you to simply run your mouth and make these kinds of statements about yourself with out them expecting you to prove what you say to be true. and though we agree that he is the best, there are two other welters today that would like to prove other wise, and its Floyd who is responsible for these fights not taking place, not Cottos and Not Margaritos.
its not about who they fought and beat or who you fought and beat, its about where you are right now.

Those are the top three, no matter what excuse you have for Floyd not fighting these guys, the truth is they are there and being that those are the two best below Floyd people are going to demand that Floyd fight them and clean up the divison.
I know its a hard dose or reality to deal with, and some of you would rather just write these two off and those of you who dismiss them entirely know nothing about the sport itself.
like I have said before winning world titles is not easy, and if you think that Margarito or Cotto had an easy route to the title your crazy, all champions have had to work their asses off in the gym at home and during the fight to get where they are now.
and for someone to just call a champion a nobody is a complete disgrace to the sport all together.
Look Floyd is the best, and like I said along with it comes expectations and I fully expect to see him fight the winner of Cotto Margarito if not both guys before he retires.
if he retires with out those fights, he will find out how crule this sport can really be. its best he fights them now while he still has his youth on his side why keep pushing this fight back he isnt getting any younger and as he said his body is shutting down.
anyways, no way does Floyd IMO duck both I think shortley we will see him fight one of them.
