real reason more than any other is that (sadly) Forbes was on a reality TV show and this and the fact he was champ before his weight issues can draw more people to get HBO and watch the fight.

Exactly. A small man who happens to be quite well-known in America because of his contender appearance. He is not deserving of a shot at DLH, but he is well-known which is his only major qualification.
