Why Don't More Fighters Train in Kenya?

i read an article about how the last 20 or so winners of the nyc and boston marathons come from kenya. why don't more fighters go train there? how long would there camp have to be for them to get adjusted in the first place and for it to actually have a lasting effect once they got here? anyone one know?

It may be a great idea, if they were not at war. Check on the news, a few of their athletes or former athletes have been killed recently during their civil war. From the training perspective it may be a great idea, just as training at other extreme conditions as mexico's elevations and so on.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic but boxers don't train to run marathons. Marathon running is mainly aerobic while boxing is mainly anaerobic. Not to say it couldn't be helpful, it's probably just not worth it.

I remember Lennox saying that the altitude where he fought Rahman sapped his energy. Training at altitude sure seems to help fighters like JMM fight hard for 12 rounds. Pretty expensive to fly around the world and set up boxing gyms these days to get the extra benefit though.

Boxing would be Half aerboic and Half anaerobic. You need endurance and speed and power in boxing.

Kenya has high altitude which explains why their athelets have more endurance.I think training there would help
