WTF is up with this Kesller character being a world beater?

I'm a huge Winky fan, just like you.

But I really do doubt Winky beats Kessler. and if Kessler fought Winky, then people would call Kessler a ***** for fighting smaller fighters.. But who else is out there?! so I'd rather just not watch the fight happen.

The weirdest thing is, I can't figure out why Winky wouldn't be able to beat Kessler. Kessler is a straight up 1-2 fighter, which is 100% made for the Wright guard. The looping and hooking shots are the ones that usually make contact with Winky's face/body, not straight jabs and straight rights. However, my gut says that Kessler would beat him. Jermain Taylor style? Hopefully he does better than Jermain did though if he gets the decision. I really didn't think Taylor split his guard that many times to deserve the decision, but I think Kessler is a harder puncher than Taylor... so that could be the key.

Speed is not everything. Taylor is basically twice as fast or more than Pavlik, but Pavlik prevailed. With all Joe's speed, he still makes a **** load of mistakes in the ring ready to be capitalized on. Pavlik for all his will and determination, can still be beaten with his considerable defensive holes. etc...

Good call...yes thats what makes boxing so exciting I guess...we just have to wait and see what happens. JC has my respect but I still want to see him beaten...Pav maybe if that ever happens...the RJJ fight is a joke.

He's a fighter who either has to hit you with a loaded up shot (that a good fighter should see coming) or has to intimidate you so you run all night (which a good fighter should not do).

I guess what I'm saying is that the power puncher like Miranda is going to have a hard time with elites, because he is going to have to take his opponent out of his game plan.



I just watched the Green fight. It was ****ing dreadful. I like Allan Green, and I know he had more of his colon taken out than most gay dude's do in their entire lives, but... he should have done more to win the fight IMO.

Green's jab looked lazy as **** that night by the way. Kessler's jab is a lot better than Green's.

Actually Green started out with a good jab, but Miranda started buzzing him with a right hand over it. Green then got tentative with the jab which made his situation even worse.

Miranda is raw as hell, but with his very long reach and deceptive speed, he is very dangerous to anyone who tries to box him. Pavlik knew that going in and instead of allowing his chin to be at the end of Pantera's punches, he smothered Miranda's power on the inside and pushed him back. That was still dangerous as you have to be a very good infighter to push Miranda around like that, but they took the gamble and it paid off.

I love guys like Miranda on the scene. They are not pretty in there, but they are soooo unpredictable and entertaining. Bull in a china cabinet is what comes to mind. very beatable, but can beat anyone on a given night. Just like gatti in his prime.

The problem with Taylor, who is one of the most talented guys in boxing, is that he always seems to fight at the level of his opponents. With all the guys he fought in the past 3 years, the decisions were all close considering the vastly different styles of each fighter he fought. If Taylor has his head on straight he could beat anyone.

Winky is very gifted, but should stick to 160 or less. His frame just does not handle higher weights. The worst thing about him though is he has priced himself out of boxing and is sitting dormant and at his age, that could be a very bad thing..

I think Kessler should move up to 175. He is definitely big enough. Some good hardened guys up there also to fight. He needs a change of scenery anyway.
