I want to see the best matchups, but let's be realistic, when you're at your job, you try to make the most money as possible. Most jobs are less dangerous and have more longevity than being a pro boxer.

Guys like Mayweather and the Fishnet are already very rich. So big deal, they want more money! Rich people are often the greediest people on the planet. Good businessmen are greedy.

It's not as if fighting for the money and going after the big paydays (often at the expense of better matchups) is something in the sport.

Mayweather-DLH 2 is indeed though, a crap matchup, one I'll try my best to watch for free.

I agree with that, However once Margarito gets Cotto out of there, dont you think that both will be making more for the fight than they would have back then? I tend to think so.

Now you can say that its not right to avoid fighting the best, but when it comes right down to it, if you were in the position to fight the very best for 5 Million but was offered 30 Million to fight a lesser opponent what would you do?
Honestly that fight for 5 Million will sooner or later come back to you, why risk losing out on 30 million when its there to be took?

Your problem is, your putting yourself in the fighters (Floyd) shoes, and looking at it from thier point of view, when in reality, you're only a fan, and as a fan, you should want to see the best fight the best. Why should we care what is more financially beneficial to the fighters? They have lawyers, advisors, and promoters to worry about all that for them. We dont see a dime of thier purse money or ppv revenue, so why should we care?

Exactly, to turn down a career high pay day to supposedly a guy you can "easily beat" shows signs of cowardice.

Seriously? I mean c'monmang I am sure you know exactly what I am saying to be the truth, I really think the way events are now playing out in the WW divison only gives Margarito more opportunitys to make those big paydays he has been after, doesnt matter how it happens as long as it does, Cotto will be a huge payday for Tony, and that will most defently secure a fight with Floyd when he wins opening up another door with a **** load of money and if he wins against Floyd which I think he can the sky is the limit, but be warned if he beats Floyd he will not get the #1 P4P ranking to go with it.

money is the root of all evil...

you are making 30 mil and 20 mil to fight guys undeserving, why not give back to the fans who gave you that payday in the first place and fight who deserves the fight, which happens to be who everyone wants to see you fight, which happens to be the guy that will help secure your legacy ????

You are correct, However as a fan you know that this **** happens, what are we going to do? seriously bitching isnt putting these fights together, you know what makes fights happen?
exactly what is taking place right now, the two best Welter Weights unifying the titles, while the #1 welter weight finishes his business with DLH, and if Floyd gets by Oscar the public will demand him to face the winner of Cotto Margarito, there will then be too much money at stake for Floyd to turn down such a fight.

if you offer a fighter a career high payday they should turn it down on the possibility that it could be worth more in the future?? is that what you are trying to say?? think about that for a second and apply a little plain and basic common sense and maybe you will see how ****** you sound.

Floyd fans have to be the first and only fans in the history of the sport to make excuses for certain fights not happening, due to monetary reasons. I've heard of fighters backing out of fights due to money issues, but i have never heard of fans using and defending this excuse up until now. You guys really have to stop!
