RJJ, Pavlik and Tarver, Is Calzaghe than a top 5 ATG?

Exactly, Joe aint ****. He aint beat no body of importance. Even if he beats Roy, Kelly and Tarver all by one round KO, he still don't go down as an all time great. That distinction is reserved for great fighters who took chances by fighting the best fighters out there on a consistant basis. Not for slappers who only fought in thier "backyard" against mandatories dictated by the WBO, come on now.... THE WBO??? It's too late for Joe to do anything that would catipult him into all time great status. Sorry guys, your boy is false goods. Roy beats him handily, Kelly KO's him in 5 and Chad Dawson shuts him out. Glen Johnson would give him hell.

For Joe Calzaghe to be an top 5 ATG, he must beat the following fighters:

RJJ
Pavlik
Tarver
Johnson
Dawson
Haye
Klitschko
Superman (no kryptonite allowed)

This is what i can see Calzaghe doing.

RJJ - Winning by TKO in 6th. (RJJ is not himself anymore. If you saw him in the Hanshaw fight, where he struggled to beat the 15th ranked guy at SMW you will understand). This type of open fight suits Calzaghe.

Pavlik - Another open fight suiting Calzaghe big time. A stoppage in the 8th round, after 8 one sided rounds. The difference in power between MW and SMW seems a lot. And Calzaghe is a lot quicker than Pavlik and seems willing to exchange.

Tarver - The most difficult fight out of the three. Tarvers style and ring smarts pose problems for Calzaghe. Tarver is up on the cards after 4 rounds. Calzaghe adjusts in style similar to Kessler. Calzaghe wins by UD of 2-3 rounds.

Conclusion: Obviously America thinks Calzaghe is crap, because of his performance against B-Hop, in which he wasn't at his best. But in open fights against RJJ and Pavlik i give him little chance of loosing.

Pavlik does not have any where near the skill range to challenge Calzaghe. And in saying that, the current RJJ who has no stamina does not either. Tarver poses a serious threat, and that will be his last defining fight.

So ATG top 5?

This wouldnt even earn him top 5 atg status.....

He needs to beat Pavlik, Roy Jones, Tarver, Miranda, Byrd, Dawson then move up and win the cruiser weight title..then move up again and win the heavyweight title...
