Honestly. This situation alone has turned me from a fan to a critic.
I can't imagine a situation for a fighter where it is more clear who they should be fighting. I can't believe Mayweather is just ****ing refusing to do it.

The guy managed to get over 325,000 PPVs for a fight with Baldomir. Which is a small miracle. 1 of the great things about Floyd is how he makes the haters become obsessed with his every move. Watching critics come with another excuse before or after every Floyd victory is funny as hell but seriously why cant the haters get this guys name out of their mouth?
The same thing is starting to happen now with Joe Calzaghe, but to a lesser extent. These boards are full of threads calling his fans nuthuggers, him a fraud, and his record fake, meanwhile most of his fans merely point out the truth, that Calzaghe is currently one of the best boxers on earth, with no-one who really looks likely to beat him. Haters wish it wasn't the case and they'll say anything to try and convince themselves that things aren't the way they are.

They know he's better than their favourite fighter and so they have to bring him down. Since nothing really intelligible can be said negatively about Floyd the boxer, you end up with the kind of arguments you see now, fraud, coward, ducker etc. It's basically haters trying to make their wish that he could lose to their fighter come true.
