Im pretty sure UFC fighters trash boxing because boxers make $$$ the top UFC fighters can only dream about. Look at Anderson Silva, hes pretty much begging for a Roy Jones Jr match because hed probably make more in that fight than he has his whole career, and hes a UFC champion.

I don't know much about UFC really. Is it all controlled by one big organisation and this Dana White guy is at the head of it? Like WWE and Vince McMahon?

Actually Dana is the president of the UFC. I agree that his management can be harsh at times. He is giving the wrong idea of MMA. UFC is just one of many different organizations but it is the top out of all. The problem with boxing is you never hear anyone defend it and come out speak against Dana's comments. Unlike MMA, boxing doesn't really have a major player in the sport where they can refer to and help give everyone an idea of the differences and to defend it. MMA has Dana White and he unfortunately can speak things that some don't agree with

I like UFC but the cheap shots and the constant **** they talk about their sport is starting to piss me off. Boxing and MMA are not mutually exclusive and the thinly veiled attempt to turn people away from one sport or the other will only hurt both in the long run.

Would it be surprising if Penn was just one of the many boxing fans that don't like Mayweather? I think a lot of you are blowing this out of proportion and some being hypocritical.

There's no call for bashing it like that. If you don't like it then that's your opinion but your opinion of it is wrong. It is much more then that, but you wouldn't know cause your probobly don't watch it i'm guessing

I really like the UFC and MMA but thier standup is a joke , many of the worlds top boxers would KO them before they got them on the ground which is always the way they say they will beat a boxer thats as highly rated as Floyd , a lot of UFC is standup and here they would get killed .

I personally don't like the UFC or MMA in general. I think boxers are in much better condition, and it's much more entertaining to watch.

I mean there are some hugfests in boxing, but not nearly to the degree that they are in MMA. I mean, the majority of an MMA fight is one guy on top of the other one on the ground, positional reversing and hugging against the fence. Yes, I watch MMA. It just isn't entertaining.

I'm working on becoming a pro boxer right now, and if I do make it big I will definitely have some choice words about the UFC and MMA in general. Definitely about Dana White. =)

why do mma fans,announcers, and their fighters try to bash boxing every chance they get.

They don't, I love boxing and MMA.

They are both awesome sports

Remember the UFC is not MMA as a whole it is simply an MMA organisition and it is run as a business. What do businesses do? they try and discredit their opposition, which in this case Dana thinks is boxing.

There is certainly room for both sports.
