Got exposed.

I'm not saying Chuck isn't a good fighter. He's just very overrated. Look up the word overrated, it means higher up than they deserve to be. This is mostly because he's the posterboy for the casual MMA fan and the causal armchair TUF guy who thinks he knows about fighting.

Chuck has primarily spent his career beating up on grapplers by getting them into slug fests because of his size and good takedown defense.

The only good STRIKERS he has decisively beaten are:

    Alistair Ovreem

    Barely Beaten:

    W. Silva (way past done btw, suffered two career ending KOs before fighting chuck under completely different rules that play against his strength).

Vitor Belfort (took the fight on a week and half notice).

Please name some other monster MMA strikers that Chuck has beaten. If you're such a Chuck fan you'll know. Hint: there is one, and he's Brazilian.
I don't think he is overated. He beat great guys and Couture is probobly his most notable compeition. People think he was overated because he was beating everyone and was hyped at the same time. You shouldn't discredit his career by trying to challenge which striker he has beaten. He hadn't faught many strikers to begin with. The only one I can think of that you might be talking about is Sobral or Belfort. Liddell mostly faught guys with wrestling styles and submission fighters

Good one. However I'm sure no one will take you up on that.

but if overeem gassed and lidell still had enough to finish him off doesnt that mean credit goes to lidell especially after 9 minutes of gettin 'his ass kicked'.
even if lidell was expectin a walk over what he was expectin and the reality are 2 diff things he was entering a diff organisation against a man with 8 pride fights under his belt

i never sed im such a chuck fan but u cannot discredit the man. sobral was originally a wrestler that learnt vale tudo i think but lidell also beat that pele dude who was a decent striker
i think sobral was a muay thai fighter who learned luta livre (vale tudo is not a style it's what they call "no holds barred" fighting it means "anything goes")

don't quote me on this 'cause i might be wrong but i thought renato was originally a kickboxer/muay thai fighter/striker who learned "luta livre" and he later hooked up with the gracies for promotion and better grappling. i think i even heard he fought capoeira too before mma but i don't know.

"luta livre" was a style invented by kickboxers , boxers and wrestlers who joined together against all the jiu-jitsu guys that were consistently beating them in brazil.

Yeah I was talking about Pele. Pele was a great striker. One of of Chucks best wins. Pele was EXTREMELY small but this was back in the open weight days......

As for Luta Livre you're basically correct.

okay. maybe that's why i thought his background was kickboxing because of the marco ruas connection.

ruas vale tudo=luta livre. these brazilian guys love naming their style after themselves.

                      just like gracie jiu-jitsu=kodokan/kosen judo

maybe floyd should say i don't do "boxing" i do "mayweather ring generalship"
