Floyd should vacate the title if he ain't gonna defend it, which we should find out about after he fights DLH. I think he's gotta give the Cotto-Marg winner a shot or retire and drop the belt. That said the fight don't have to be for the Ring title cuz this is a situation where alphabet belts or the Ring belt aren't needed to declare a people's champion. The winner will be the man at WW in the absence of a fight wit Floyd from fans' perpsectives (except Floyd stans).

Thats not a reflection of ricky being a bad fighter he just doesn't move up in weight so well cos of his style, thus why I say floyd should retain his pound 4 pound status because he did have a hell of a 2007, and beat an ageing hall of famer, and a top 10 pound 4 pounder, but he has defended his ww title once since 2006 against a natural and linear junior welter champ, in my opinion the ring wouldn't be wrong if they took it away from him especially if its cotto that wins.
Cos of his style? Do you know what Mayweather and Collazo have in common? Speed slicksters. Collazo was also a very big southpaw too.

Though to answer your question Ricky Hatton would beat:

      Jackson Bonsu
Luis Collazo (since he already did)
Otray Ural (or however the **** you spell it. He was in the top 10 at the time)
Kermit Cintron (Odd choice, but Hatton would give Cintron hell on the inside)

      Maybes:
      Carlos Quintana (BIG maybe)

He'd lose to everyone else. So he would be about #7 on the ring ratings at Welterweight. Also he defended his Welterweight title. Would Hatton have been welterweight champion if he had won? Yes or No?

Cotto-Margarito FORCES Floyd to fight the winner though. There is no one left after that. Floyd should already be fighting Cotto, but he isn't and he shouldn't be stripped for that by the ring. If anything he should be stripped by the WBC come december for not fighting Andre Berto. But who really wants to see Berto-Mayweather?

Bumping because of the discussion about Golden Boy owning The Ring Magazine.

Also to fight for a title you have to be 1 (Cotto) and 2 (Mosley). Margarito is ranked 5th by the ring and rightfully so.
