The Guardian reports that UK superstar Amir Khan, 21, has dumped his trainer of three-years, Oliver Harrison. Khan, one of the top prospects in the sport, had been working with Harrison since before his final amateur fight, when he got revenge by beating Mario Kindelan, who beat him in the 2004 Olympic lightweight final. Almost certainly a good move IMO, providing Khan can hook up with someone else.
I have long thought that Khan appears to be a fast learner and with his handspeed and physical gifts, but possible lack of chin, he would be well advised to try and ape Mayweather's style and concentrate on his technical game, rather than continuing down the path of becoming a typical UK aggressive volume puncher.
We'll have to see what the change in trainer really means though, in truth he probably won't change his style that much, no matter how advisable it might be.

I wonder who he'd hook up with. Most logical choice right now is Roger Mayweather since Khan was training with Floyd.
I'd like to see him with any of the Mayweathers really.Comment

The Uk fans should be proud of this young kid. He truly is trying to become a great instead of feasting on the BS Warren feeds him with. Pretty sure Warren's time is running out too if he is listening to anything the Mayweathers told him. Good for him and good luck. Still have yet to see him i action though. Is he as talented as advertised?Comment

Agree with what you say, he definitely seems to want to go for it.
As for his talent, he has blinding handspeed and can throw incredible combinations. He wins his fights by overwhelming his opponents with blows.
He has a suspect chin and for me maybe suspect power, at least I'm not sure he has elite level one punch KO ability. He's also a bit green tactically and defensively.
Overall he is probably as talented as advertised, to the point where most boxers would kill to have his natural ability. If he can overcome his flaws he could do great things.
That's why I'd love to see him get trained by a Mayweather.

He is a trainer's dream, still young and so much talent to work with. I think this is first step towards a world title - a world class trainer.Comment

Agree totally. I think Khan should try and look at himself as having the potential to be truly world class, and try and acquire the skills to prove it. I genuinely think he could be incredible, and I don't want to see him stagnate and just rely on his natural ability to beat slightly inferior opponents. He should watch Mayweather every day.
