No doubt. He could beat any of the top ten ranked welterweights.

Cotto doesn't have even 1/2 the resume Mayweather has.
Fake Floyd admitted he is a coward.

How can he be a top welter.

        Question.

Use your common sense to answer this if you have any.

Does beating Baldo and a shot DLH make you a top welter?

You don't need to be Einstein to figure out the answer.

Asian Sensation? I don't give a flying **** what that goofball says or thinks. Margarito belongs in the top 5 WW, I rank him 3rd after Miguel Cotto, and a threat to all of them.

Let us all remember that Margarito was already a champion for many years prior to challenging Fake Floyd.

Some dumbos just think that because Marg's style isn't pretty and flashy he's therefore a noob.

            Wtf!

Then what do you call a person who calls himself the G.O.A.T. yet pisses on his pants and has admitted he's a coward?

            Talk about double standards.

Who else has Margarito fought that throws precise hard punches at the angles Cotto throws at?

I honestly think Cotto is gonna make him look like he doesn't belong there.

Margarito is still overrated IMO if you look at the quality fighters he's faced compared to who he's KO'd. Clottey gave him a hell of a fight and Clottey took his shots...and well, Pitty Pat Pauly beat him lol.

                Cotto will win decisively.
you could be right but it could go the toatal oppiste way...........this is what i like about this fight you really dont know whos gonna win....i love both guys though both are great warriors

He didn't turn down Marg for hatton, he turned down 8 mill to fight marg for 6 mill to fight carlos baldamir. I think he's one of the top welters, I dont think Cotto or Floyd could have stoped Cintron as easy and fast as marg did. They would beat him, dont get me wrong, but not as impressivly. IMO.

Wow...a lot of disinformation on this thread.

People - put your bias aside and look at facts. Some of you are just making up ****.

FACT: Mayweather was offered 8 mil to fight Margarito For his November 2006 date (the one he used to fight Baldomir).

FACT: Mayweather was paid 10 million for the Baldomir fight.

FACT: Antonio Margarito - at the time of the offer to Mayweather - was the longest-reigning champ at welter, hadn't lost at that weight since he was EIGHTEEN, and had made several appearances on HBO AND Showtime.

FACT: At the time, nearly everyone thought Floyd should fight Margarito.

And for the person who said Shane Mosley wasn't considered a top welter when Cotto fought him...just stop watching boxing. Cotto's win over Mosley (close as it was) is better than ANY victory Floyd has at welter. End of story. And I LOVE Floyd.

Objectivity should count for something. You can love or hate a fighter but don't let it get in the way of rational thinking...sometimes I wonder why some of you even post - you're not here to listen to reason, just to cheerlead. The sad thing is, you aren't changing anyone's mind.

                    Grow up, man.

FACT- Floyd was then offered 7 mil to fight Tony and instead fought Judah for 6 ( even though Judah was coming off a loss)..

FACT - fLOYD WAS offerd 8 mil to fight Tony, only to pay arum close to a mil to get out of contract to fight Baldo ( who Goosedn promoted)..
