Point Blank tho this fight needs to happen
You gotta remeber Castillo was the reconize champion at 135
and when Floyd fought him, that was Floyd's first fight with him @ 135 ...

Majority census was that this would be mayweather toughest challenge...
and how will he handle the weight and the pressure of Castillo....

but it's always cool to disagree sometimes....

But we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one...

    no hard feeling though...

is a credible argument to downplay the significances a win over cotto is..

he only won his titles by fighting in Vacant matches is a credible argument to downplay the significance a win over cotto is..

Cotto was never highly ranked in the P4P list anyways So this win is not that impressive.....is a credible argument to downplay the significance a win over cotto is..

        I will say this again:

Cotto is a good fighter..... But if he was to fight Mayweather right now....
Only thing Cotto would be consider as is "Mayweather biggest threat"

It wouldn't be a fight in which two great fighters are fighting each other...

        It would be another...

"Mayweather could possibly lose this fight..."

        not

"Cotto could win this fight" Or "This fight would determine who is the greatest"
because cotto haven't done enough to be consider to be the great..

If Cotto beat Mayweather right now he would be like
        "Vernon Forrest" or "Winky Wright"
Yeah he Beat Mosley, but what other great fighters have he beaten...
        Sidenote:
(They beat Mosely in his prime)

but if he beat Mayweather after he got the 2 other belts...against prime opponents

He could be another "Trinidad" or maybe "Duran"

You see I want this fight to determine something...of significance

I dont want to fight just prove Mayweather is the best, because we already know he is the best..

        This my point....
HORUS if you want to eliminate the most credible excuses anybody can have about The significance of Floyd beating Cotto you souldn't be saying that he hasn't beat anybody yet (I think he has) or he doesn't deserve to be in the same ring with Floyd (I think he does), you should say hey Cotto is a great fighter #2 welter in the world wait until my guy destroys him or Ko's him.

Do you remember Roy Jones saying that Tito was great that he looked better when he was inactive. He knew Tito didn't had a chance but he didn't say nothing, why? To get more credit for the Win.

I mean we get to watch Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning, Michael Jordan whoever, why can't we see Floyd more than once or twice a year?

It may be the nature of boxing but it's a shame...
Yeah, but these sports figures dont get punched in the face 600 times a games. They dont have their nose broken every game. They dont break knuckles and hands every game. They dont suffer cranial damages every game. Torn biceps like Roy. Broken hands like Paulie and Floyd. Busted faces, noses, eyes like Gatti. Concussion like David Banks, Jermain (against KP 1). There is no chance of the dieing throwing a football or shooting a round ball in a hoop. Or dieing hitting a golf ball.Thats why. There is no shame in fighting 2 times a year against good able opponents. Thats why young fighters fight alot at the beginning and less when they get older. Because at the beginning of their careers the dont fight GOOD fighters, but they are able. Later on they face GOOD ABLE fighters and take more punishment. I would like to see on of those three go one round and take 30-40 punches to the face. They couldnt.

It's not the fighters job to kiss his opponents ass to get more credit/approval from the fans. A fighter can disrespect his opponent and call him a bum if he wants to, but if we view that "bum" as a guy who is Top 10 P4P, solid skills etc, then it doesn't matter.

It's how the opponent is perceived to be that matters not what the fighter thinks of that opponent.

Fair enough but tell that to Archie Moore Sugar Ray Robinson Maxie Rosenblook and a ton of other guys that treated boxing as their profession.
It's the hardest sport I know but they chose it.

and who is the fighter that calzaghe fought the has was scared of? do you really buy that ****. No one at the world class level is scared of anyone. they wouldnt have made it that far if being scared was a factor.

Did you ever read the Sugar Ray Robinson Biography????

I did and SRL never liked boxing but chose it because he needed the Paycheck. He also had to fight every other week because the money they received was not much.

He said he hated boxing. That's when the sport supposebly was at his best but the fighters didn't benefit from it as much as the greedy promoters.

Yeah **** all those stipulations and such. Cotto isn't big this or that who gives a ****. However, because of said reason he has to wait a bit longer. There are BIGGER (not better but bigger) fights out there that Floyd will take first. Then Cotto to end his career.
