Yea, true but unfortunately we have to listen to the HBO staff use these numbers as "proof" which is turn influences fans, who in turn use this information to argue about who won.

It was blatently clear while watching the fight that Joe was not landing close to as many punches that punchstat was claiming.

Judges watch boxing in real time like we do. They don't have the benefit of watching it again or slowing it down to see who is doing what.

Maybe Boxing could have something like the NFL does. Officials grading the performance of judges in big money fights and picking the best for the championship matches. Kind of like a review committee.

And from what I understand, to be a judge in a high profile fight requires no specific skill set.

          Just seems strange to me.

CompuBox, can be close, it's never truly right. However, he landed shots. They just weren't clean or really effective. It's a close fight though, so it doesn't really matter.

I did SLO MO w/ Calzaghe fan

I sat down with a JC fan who THOUGHT JC won. So I just went over the fight in slo mo because I didn't want to get into he said she said and dispute all kinds of stuff.

When we went thru the whole fight. He completely changed his mind about the punch stats. If you truly watch the fight in slow motion it really is a no brainer.
This dude thought JC outworked BHOP.

What is really incredible about the fight was how many times JC missed. It is really amazing.

Hopkins was cheating the entire fight and the ref never took points off, so whats the point of saying Hopkins was robbed when he cheated the entire fight?

Gtf out of here with this crap, I could care less if hopkins won on points. He cheated and should have been dq'd or atleast deducted points for clinching and headbutting his way. He ****ing cheated, you don't give cheaters the victory.

If the fight was scored correctly, Hopkins would have lost 2-3 points on cheating alone.

Calzaghe did hit low. Maybe not as bad as Hopkins would have you believe, but he did. Fact is, it was a rough fact. So, that's a moot point.

So, what.. That punch looked like **** and didn't even look hard at all, remember calzaghe is a slapper. And it didn't even look like in the **** area, it looked more right under the belly button area, unless Hopkins tucks his **** up for god knows what reason. Head butting, and clinching 160 times but no points deducted? The right man won, because the right man wasn't trying to cheat Joe Calzaghe

This is for another thread dude. Secondly, the punches that DID land where LOW BLOWS by Calzaghe who, by the way, admitted they were INTENTIONAL.
So the cheating was done by Calzaghe, probably after he was put down knew he was in with a fighter he couldn't use his style on. If any points should've been taken it was against JC.
