Queens, you make some good points, if you were talking about Americans. The ammount of BS coming from the Americans dwarfs the ammount of BS coming from UK posters. Just take a look back to all the "Hopkins gonna KO that eurobum cal***gy" threads and you will see just what I mean....

Most threads stating Calzaghe would win were backed up by serious points, such as "Calzaghe will out work Hopkins" or "Hopkins holds too much to beat Joe"

Whereas most threads regarding a Hopkins victory consisted of such priceless quotes as "that euro bum slaps, he cant beat Hopkins" and "Hopkins might be 43 but hes still better than Calzaghe"

The definition of bias in this case is making rediculous claims without evidence to back up what you say, most Calzaghe threads had some sort of reasoning behind why Joe would win, whereas most Hopkins threads had none, just a bunch of halfwit Americans bashing on british/white fighters.

None of this is aimed at you personally, as you are one of a handful of Americans who come here to actually discuss boxing as a whole, but I do find the fact that you would point this out about British posters to be slightly hypocritical.

These are just things that I happened to see. I haven't read a lot of the Calzaghe threads because it's just the same thing over and over again, with some saying good things, some saying bad things, and people like Burner accusing Calzaghe of ducking Tito, James Toney and Jermaine Taylor. The other day someone criticised him for not having fought Gerald McClellan. The point I'm making is that there are a lot of posters making comments that criticise British fighters unfairly, and many make generalisations about all British fighters based upon the performance of just one.

How about the poster who urged Calzaghe to shoot himself? Or the guy who called him a "a fairy prancing *****"? There are posts like this being made everyday which massively outnumber the anti-American posts.

There is fair criticism of Calzaghe that has been made, and I've agreed with some of it myself. But a lot of the arguments against him are just pure hate, and nationality is for some reason considered a deciding factor when a British fighter loses(or even wins in less than impressive fashion) more than it is when an American fighter loses.

Brits saying ****** things like that tend to forget our own involvement in the Iraq war and several other incidents, and the fact that the British economy isn't doing well lately either, and will probably get worse before it gets better.

It's pretty clear prime Roy would have beaten even prime Joe with good hands. Without the steroids, I'm not so sure. People that think it doesn't affect performance should take a look at guys like Ben Johnson that broke the world record in the 100 m with the help of steroids. If it helps in explosive quickness and power needed in a short sprint, it most definitely helps in boxing.

The example you gave is of a sprinter. Boxing is very different from other sports.

I can name off the top of my head a handful of boxers who used steroids and how it didn't help them get to the top.

I havnt gone a day without hearing 'Overrated Limey scum' 'Euro trash' or 'UK fighters suck Americas the best' all over the place. At leats Brits (for the most part as far as i've seen) just diss fighters, not use the place they come from as a put down.

Also, you had to point out hoe 'Limeys' start it. Not Brist start ot, but 'Limey' which in my experience is usually put before 'Scum' and after 'Overrated' and if your seriously trying to tell me the Brits are all to blame then GTFOOH. Ever heard of Sin??
