If g-man had Knocked out Benn in the 8th

If Gerald Mcclellan had manged to finish Benn in the 8th round do you think he would still have been able to carry on fighting. I re watched the fight today and it seemed that after about the 3rd round Mcclellan was having real trouble like his head was already developing a problem and he was looking his normal self, I have heard that Mcclellan was having head pains after the Jakson fight. I think even if he had won the fight his career would have been over.

How was the ref **** when benn got up and went on to win?

It's like when micky vann throw the towel back out of the ring just before earl knocked katsidis down, the events after justified the ref's actions. IMO

thats not what i meant, The ref kept pushing G-man back for no reason letting benn of when he was hurt he also never picked up on benn's rabbit punches.

watch how benn holds him and the ref blames gerald.

this fight should be a testament to supposed quick stoppages.people need to understand that no glory is worth what happened to gerald.

He might have been killed in his next fight, but the post fight brain scans might have shown something up and he could have pursued another career, its sad what happened but thats the nature of the sport.

imo if it hadn't happened in the benn fight it would have happened to him at some point.

i think benn had to go to hospital with exhaustion after the fight also, this was always gonna be a huge fight, on paper g man should have won. i think benn knows this too, that may be why he is depressed nowadays.
must be a hard thing to live with on your conscience.
the brains a messed up thing, who knows what could or would have happened.
I can remember watching it thinkin why is Gerald McClellan blinking.
It's really sad to look at what a great athelete he was and how he is now

I think he'd started blinking in or just after round six, the brain injury, clot, or burst artery was doing its thing earlier than round eight. McClellan was screwed from that moment on. If I remember rightly I think everything started after Benn threw a punch but caught McClellan with his head and McClellan dropped to a knee. There were also a couple of devestating rabbit punches thrown after the bell by Benn at one point which wouldn't have helped.

That said if he'd got to hospital earlier he may have recovered much better. Look at Spencer Oliver, a similar thing happened to him, it was caught in time and hell, he was doing the commentary on BBC2 today for the Calzaghe fight.
