I read a couple of days ago, that since Vitali will not be available to fight until fall (because of his involvement in politics), Peter and his management are considering a voluntary title defense in the summer.

I would like to see Peter fight the winner of Chagaev vs. Valuev.

Vitali shouldn't even be uttered as a name to fight Peter.
How long has this guy held the division hostage with his injuries?
He was worse than Maskaev was.

      Life moves on without him.

Peter versus winner of WBA title scrap all the way.

funny thing is briggs may have looked bad recently but he really has the style to KTFO Peter. Looks like they smartened up and realized putting Peter in with Briggs is ****** because its a VERY HIGH risk and a LOW reward. McCLine dropped Peter's ass a few times and Briggs is a much better puncher than McCline.

Peter is right in wanting to fight only "A" level heavyweights like Chagaev and the Klitschkos.
But.....at the same time you have to consider that the next time Peter goes to Las Vegas it should be as a comedian, not a fighter. His braggadocio is laughable. He only fights the BEST fighters???!!!.

He's only fought 2..yes TWO good fighters in his whole career who had a chance to beat him. {{Toney was too small and old, and no KO punch. (although he won the first fight) Maskaev too old, injured and clinging to a title he'd miraculously obtained from a mediocre fighter}}.

One was Klitschko, (aided by a blind and incompetent ref) who survived rabbit punch KD's, shove down KD's, wind velocity KD's, etc. to give him a very sore head and a true boxing lesson. He fought McCline, who, although not a KO puncher, and with (nearly ?) double-figure losses himself, knocked him down 3 times, and the fight could easily have been stopped. It was an arguable loss or draw.

All the rest of his bouts were against walkuing zombies tenderly guided up to the ring, to build up his reputation as a ferocious KO maniac. They obediently would retire to the ropes and lean there until Sam had clubbed them suffiently on the brain stem, to be allowed to collapse, giving him a "KO".

NOW....one would think that he's ALWAYS had the most fastidous standards of only fighting the BEST. Maybe...............?? But the best for WHAT??

Peter vs. Briggs would be a sloppy fight both of these guys would be gassed out by the 6th round.. I'd like to see Klitschko vs. Peter II.

I think people underestimate Jameel McCline's power. He is probably the strongest fighter I have ever met and for a few rounds he can **** very hard. He dropped Chris Byrd, Shannon Briggs, Lance Whitaker among others, he just cannot finish anyone.

I don't think Peter will bid any better in a rematch with Wladimir, but he can beat most of the other heavyweights. It's not like there are a ton of other big, tall jabbing punchers in the division.

Peter isn't the big KO puncher he is made out to be, but the man is strong as hell. I think because he looks the part people overestimate his power. The main KO that made that impression was Jeremy Williams, and Henry Akinwande iced him with one punch as well.

Good points. McCline also dropped Calvin Brock.
Peter ko'ed 1 guy in his last 6 fights before Maskaev who is very vulnerable to getting ko'ed by wide looping shots (see Kirk Johnson fight)

I think McCline had a nice little run back in 2001-2002 but parlayed that fame for the last 5 years.

McCline is the biggest underachiever in recent boxing history. He froze against Wladimir and was never the same again. I really do believe McCline could have won that fight.

Maskaev is vulnerable to being KO'ed, period.
