Is Arum/Top Rank right for Cotto??????

This is question that I want to ask to NSB....

How is it that Arum had REAL bad fallouts with his two BEST & former fighters? First The Golden Boy, then the Pretty Boy. They have both left Arum. From my understand, both Oscar and Floyd left on BAD terms. However, Oscar and Arum have done business, but it was MONETARY!! Floyd says that he and Arum don't see eye to eye and that Arum is a "grumpy OLD man"....

Seeing how the relationships between Arum and his former two best fighters (Oscar & Floyd) have gone, does Cotto have anything to worry about as far as his relationship with Arum is concerned? Should he stay with Arum/Top Rank his entire career?

its done pretty good for him so far. im sure DLH would have done a much better job promoting Cotto to the masses though. He seems to know what it takes to sell fights and fighters.

yea, you right. Golden Boy has to be the PREMIER promoting company. I mean they have three top guys in our modern era, Oscar, Hop, and Mosely..not to mention the other guys they have, like Barrera. But I think GBP would be BIG for Cotto. I just don't feel comfortable about his career with Arum. Is he good, YES. But from a promoting standpoint, I think he needs more for the LONG HAUL. IMO

Top Rank created both De La Hoya and Mayweather. Both of them fought almost every fight of their career under Top Rank. Of course De La Hoya left on bad terms, he sued to get out of his contract to start a rival promotional company. Maweather bought out his contract from Top Rank because De La Hoya said he would never fight him unless he was no longer under contract with Top Rank.

Golden Boy is a terrible company at PROMOTING. They have not created a SINGLE star since their company started. They only sign fighters who are already established and can't break an egg when it comes to building one from scratch.

I'd guess he did, given that he trashes PBF at every opportunity.

Wouldnt you? They built the guy from scratch and put a lot of money into him. Remember the story with James Prince, when Mayweather and his people got beat down by Prince because Floyd tried to play him. He called up Top Rank in tears, fearing for his life and it was Arum who floated hundreds of thousands to get him out of the contract with Prince. Then he turns around and buys his contract out to get a big fight.
