Roy has power and is still faster than calzaghe.
this is what i see happening, I see Roy against the ropes with Calzaghe doing his slapping flurry. and jones comes back with a quick powerful combo that drops Calzaghe. He gets up and roy actually finishes the fight right after..

Another thing is the respect Calzaghe has for jones.....he has said he like jones style and was a huge fan of his. I am wondering if that is going to affect Joe in the fight...he payed alot of respect to hopkins skills during the fight..and its someone he hates....Does he pay two much respect for jones?

The only way Calzaghe is going to win is by stopping jones.....i dont see him being able to outwork him. His punches are to wide and sloppy and against a guy with the speed and power of jones, i think its a recipe for disaster.

Roy by TKO < 8 rounds
did b-hop not wobble tarver a good bit in their fight like had him on the ropes in real trouble? he never finished him off right enough but still....

Probably Joe by a decision. But he won't knock Roy out, doesn't have any power to do that.

yea mainly cuz he chooses not to.. its obvious when you watch many of his fights.. he takes it distance eventhough he doesnt have to.. I think he is too worried about hurting someone..

He shouldn't be boxing if that's the case, especially when his opponent is trying to take his head off.

I don't think he thinks Calzaghe is that kind of threat to him like Tarver and Johnson were so he figures he can take a few more chances and maybe sit down on a couple of punches.

I understand that. He's not as quick as he was in his prime though so he has to be very smart with who he fights and how he fights them.

But to think he doesn't want to hurt the other guy is crazy.

                    I'll go for Calzaghe UD.

Wobbled? Hopkins headbutted Calzaghe, look closely at the fight and keep your eyes on Hopkins' head. He wasn't wobbled, he was slightly knocked back because of the headbutt. The actual punch he landed on the left side of Joe's face after the headbutt did nothing.
