in a p4p sense Castillo would have a good shot. Cotto tends to fight over his front foot and JLC had one of the best uppercuts in boxing. Also, Castillo has a fairly rock solid chin and is a fairly good inside fighter in his own right.

    it would be a war

other than that it's even. floyd can be ranked above cotto skill wise, but in terms of opposition, mayweather in no way edges cotto. miguel paid his dues, and all that money talk is all bull**** and floyd knows it. he's got an excuse for everything, only it doesnt work. facing bums and no marketability doesnt work on cotto. it could work, on baldomir, gatti, hatton and the rest of em. Miguel is the real thing.
ROFL. Wow, and you questioned my boxing knowledge? Are you implying that Cotto has a resume that's equally impressive to Floyds?

      WOW.

      Anyway:

A prime Castillo probably beats a 24 year old 135lb super green version Cotto.
If Corrales had a chin, he would probably beat a 23 year old Cotto as well.
Genero Hernandez out boxes a 21 year old Cotto, easily.

That one person said oscar dela hoya would beat cotto... Isn't Oscar one dimensional as they come? Without his left hook he is nothing, thats what Felix Sturm proved!!!

That is your opinion, However ask Vargas about them right hands or even Mayorga, the only thing Sturm proved IMHO is that he can lose to a well out of shape and fat Oscar De La Hoya.

you make your name and prove your abilities when you beat name and fighters around, in his earlier days floyd beat some decent fighters, but ability wise, he didnt beat anyone that cotto couldnt handle

this is not a floyd-hate, votto-love thread, this is a real question for fans of both guys.

floyd cant use an excuse that cotto is not marketable because miguel was making PPV apperances way faster than floyd did. it took mayweather his whole career to put his ignorant ass on PPV and with arturo gatti, where arturo was the attraction.
              Oscar would stomp Cotto..

Floyd whips everybody on Cotto's resume..without taking as much punishment..

                  Regardless of weight:

                  DLH
                  Hatton
Prime Castillo (The one who fought floyd)

this is regardless of weight /p4p matchup at 140 hatton beats cotto, at147 cotto eats hatton.

and you base this off of what? whoch performance leads you to believe that he would "stomp" cotto? Both wins against Mosley?
