He was a good middleweight champion but hardly a legend, heck he lost to an inexperienced protected fluff fighter named Jermain Taylor twice. Yeah he's a legend alright ....in his own mind..

That being said I don't think Joe Calzaghe is a legend either and he has a better record...Ali, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Robinson not those were more than good champions... THEY WERE AND ARE LEGENDS
Bernard Hopkins would beat the living **** out of Roberto Duran (at middleweight). He'd might lose to Lenoard and Hagler, but I think he could beat Hearns too. Hopkins, stylistically, would have a tough time with Lenoard especially. Hopkins had trouble with guys with good speed, but it's tough to judge because when he fought guys with really good speed he was already past his prime (Calzaghe and Taylor) or before it (Jones).

    Edit:

Also Roy Jones has a better resume then Bernard Hopkins...and it more of a legend then him. Prime Roy was incredible...

Joe doesnyt realize roy jones is one boxer you cannot out box. he is the best boxer pound for pound. jones losing is only a threat when the fighter has a kO punch. calzaghe has no power whatso ever. if you set a compubox record for most punches thrown and a fighter is not hurt or appear to have any cuts you garbage!!!!! just like wit trinindad when roy realizes his punchin power is nuthin he gone show his ass and beat the dawg **** put of average joe!! and he better not drop his hands against my boy roy cuz his handspeed isnt a fraction compared to roy's!!! RJJ embarrasing and outworking joe in 12 with a guarnteed atleast 3 knockdowns in the fight if enzo doesnt stop the fight

I think Joe deserved the close decision over B-Hop, but close as it was he ain't got no right talkin this kind of ****. He didn't do near enough damage to alter Bernard's legacy as a great fighter. I hope Roy beats his ass.

I agree with just about everything here...except the part about Jones having a better résumé. I think Hopkins has better names on his résumé after 35yrs than Jones had before 35. Also, as Hype said, despite facing some much livelier competition in the final stretch of his career, Hopkins never came close to getting beat down like Roy. Hopkins will go down as the greater fighter IMHO.

Joseph can say whatever the **** he wants 'cause Hopkins ran from him in 2002.

Jones is a legend, but he is old and a shadow of his former self.
