But he won't Do what his fans want him to do and Call out Mayweather on TV in an interview like Hatton did?

Oscar was the one who called Cotto out. Not the other way around. If Floyd did what Oscar did, im sure Cotto would've gladly accepted the challenge aswell.

so what is it then. how is Cotto supposed to get his PPV game up? Mayweather fans use the excuse that Cotto isnt a name and needs to bring up his PPV marketability up. Well, there isnt anyone really for him to do that with now is there. PBF wont fight him. Mayorga is an option but DLH beat Mayorga and is arguably STILL the biggest draw in the sport. And we all know you cant bring up your numbers by cleaning out a division of no name WW's, especially when you've already beaten 3 of the top 5 welters. So how is Cotto supposed to raise his PPV stock WITHOUT being able to fight the top stars? I'd REALLY love an explanation to that.


Well, the whole proposition is IF he beats Floyd. If he LEGITIMATELY beats the sports #1 P4P fighter, wouldn't that make Oscar a LEGITIMATE threat now? So it would be ****** for anyone to criticize Cotto for fighting the guy who just beat the sports best fighter. Now, if DLH LOSES and Cotto STILL decides to fight him, then of course it would be a decision which could be ostracized, but then again, Cotto vs. Floyd would still be a viable option at that point and one of the reasons, as mentioned above, that Floyd doesnt want to fight Cotto is because he doesnt have draw power. So then why would a Floyd Fan criticize Cotto for doing EXACTLY what THEY and Floyd are asking Cotto to do?

i agree with you on this one. i want him to fight cotto, oscar that is so cotto can get his name up, and then floyd will fight him, but oscar won't beat floyd, but i still think he will fight cotto after he loses to floyd again. now, this will get cotto's name up and with the demand for a mayweather/cotto showdown, floyd will see big dollar signs and a victory, coz he will beat cotto, quite decisively, but we'll have to wait for it. but 2501, i agree with you on this one though(the part i bolded and italicized).

i only hope that posters on this forum don't praise cotto for fighting oscar and beating him, yet, they bash floyd for doing it, because if they do, all of their previous posts and threads mean absolutely nothing, the ones that bash floyd, and they will only be what i have been calling them for a while now, hypocrites, and that's all. their posts will have absolutely no merit or substance to them. every fighter wants a big payday, that's how you know you're somebody in boxing, you're in big fights, and the drama is only building more and more in this cotto/mayweather story.

On the other hand, one of Floyd's excuses is that he wont fight Cotto due to his lack of star appeal, and drawing power. What better way to get mainstream exposure, than fighting Oscar? I personally dont care for this matchup, but if its gonna get Floyd's ass in the ring, then im all for it.
